Do not waste your money on these, they are $129 for 12 of the December of 2019, I bought two sets. There must be a million times that I have had to ask my neighbors for tops. If squirrels run along your fence they will knock these off right away because they're very inexpensively made and then the plastic in less than a year becomes.
Lights appear to be in good condition, but some of them are clearly used. For two of the devices, the battery strips had been pulled out, and another one was missing a screw. It was clear that another screw on the surface of the box had been previously used, as the paint had worn off on the threads and the head of the screw showed obvious signs of use.
Rather than installing post caps, we chose to install a light at the top of each standing post (except for those against the house). The deck is brown on the sole, but white on the railings. It doesn't matter whether it's cloudy or not, they still charge up. During the evening, they are on just before dusk. It would be nice if it was sunny. Even at 4 in the evening, the lights are still shining I got up at 0000! I love the lighting in this room. A bright enough light to avoid causing an offense to your neighbors, but a dim enough light to prevent tripping hazards. Survivors of three violent thunderstorms, including one that took a large limb from our neighbor's tree, have recently renovated their home. The solar collector or the housing of the light do not have any cracks or scratches. My vote is a resounding yes!.
Having read mixed reviews on this product, I decided to give it a try. Some said it wasn't big enough to fit a 4x4. This is true, but by a very small margin. My 16 new windows were installed in an hour after I used a chisel and hammer to tighten the knots. The installation would have been a third of the time if knots were not used. Although I tried using a block plane, I found that the chisel was more effective. The sun goes down around 6 pm here. I found them still shining brightly the next morning when I went to check on them at 2am. I'm extremely satisfied whether or not the fence is illuminated. Now the fence looks so much better day and night.
I expected better quality for the price, but I am very surprised by the low quality of the lights. A major problem is that the inside of the base does not have a 3-dimensional appearance A little more like 3/8", but still about 5/8" Only 9/16" at the most (too tight) and the lights would not slide over the posts that the 3-inch light bars were designed to fit over If I sand down the 2 sides of the square, these will fit perfectly. I'll get my sander out and make sure that the 5/8" ones I cut off will fit. Despite the introduction of the solar panel, it does not capture sunlight well. As soon as the lights come on, they do not shine for very long. Some of our days have been overcast, but there have also been sunny days, so it doesn't really matter much. I can get the same lights for less than $6 each at home depot. The battery will probably be thrown away and I will go and buy something that will recharge each There are some times when it is better to purchase something in a physical store where you can actually handle the merchandise. Shopping online isn't always the real deal!.
The top of one of them is actually cracked, and the top does not fit well. A manufacturer will be responsible for the damaged ones, I hope. In other words, I would have liked them a little bit brighter, but overall they do the job. Colors with a bright white hue are pleasing to the eye.
It's a nice plastic sleeve and it fits and looks great. I bought two. For the remaining eight, I put them on wood 4x4 and they also fit well. In one of the eight devices, the connection was loose, so I took its apart and resolder it. It now works just fine but I'm still very happy with the price. This light is enough to light up our deck and the front of the house without lighting up the entire house. This is a highly recommended product.
Despite the fact that my first set of two had been working for two years, I replaced them with a different set when it failed.
