Post caps that fit a 4x4 post usually fit. I do not know of any situations where they would not fit.
However, they have all done it over the past few weeks (9) already.
I replaced my old cap with a new one after more than 20 years because the old cap had rotted away and completely ruined the look of As a result, I searched multiple websites in search of this particular cap since I needed an exact duplicate in order not to violate my subdivision's covenants. My cap covered my post perfectly, and it is exactly what I was looking for. Having painted it and repainted the mailbox post, I think the whole thing looks great! However, all the joints were tight when it arrived, so we'll see if it lasts for a long time. It's painted inside and out and only attached to the post in that way, gluing the end grain of a treated 4x4 to cross grain wood is a bad idea, it will give or break and it will be this cap. You can secure it by tabbing a nail into the end of the 4x4 and trimming all but a quarter-inch or so on either side then pressing this cap onto the cut.

My garden was surrounded by a wooden fence with 4x4 posts, which was built by carpenters. The caps were on the posts and I decided to set them on top. The price was great for what you got. It is a popular place for birds to perch as they peer into the garden to see what seeds might be scattered.
