The hot air vent cover, Part DS500820, is made of galvanized steel, which oxidizes when exposed to heat and leaves permanent black streaks on clothing. They haven't fixed the problem despite numerous complaints (search the internet). They sent us six replacements, all of which were made of the same material and blacked out in a matter of days. br>br>There is no value in a dryer that destroys clothes.
I'm from Wisconsin, and I try to buy Wisconsin-made products whenever possible, so I expected to enjoy this dryer, but I don't. This dryer was purchased by my parents for their home, and it has proven to be problematic: Something went wrong with the heating sensor, and it became extremely hot, melting some of my mother's clothes. It was still covered by the manufacturer's warranty, which was nice, but it doesn't appear to function properly. br>Also, the lint collector is placed in an inconvenient location. Even if you clean the lint out before taking out your clothes, there will always be at least one item covered in lint afterward. I wish I liked it, but it isn't worth the money. br>As I previously stated, the dryer sheet ends up wedged in the lint trap half of the time. br>As I previously stated, I wish I liked it, but it isn't worth the money.
Speed Queen was recommended to me as the best dryer for a variety of reasons:
.
. With a 5-year warranty, it was constructed from commercial parts. The longest warranty of any brand is a year.
.
. The life expectancy was estimated to be 25 years.
.
. It was manufactured in the United States of America.
. My overpriced $1,000 new dryer was completely destroyed on its first task, despite the hype. The tub lip's metal ripped apart, leaving strings of metal hanging on the inside, which can be seen through the holes. The steel bracket had also been badly harmed. In conclusion, the repairman stated that the entire interior needed to be replaced.
. br>As a result, I posed the obvious question: "Can you tell me what happened?" "
. "This wasn't supposed to happen on the first run," he said, shrugging his shoulders. It could have been any of the following: a manufacturing flaw or debris that was not properly removed - Metal scrap or pebbles from the beach "
. "Was this your first?" says the narrator.
"No. A few have caught my eye.
