I'm really disappointed. I had been waiting for this for over a month, and it had been smashed during shipping. This is proven by the fact that none of the packing materials were harmed. The dryer is the only thing missing.

Let me begin by mentioning my favorite feature of this dryer: the auto sensor. It can tell when my clothes are dry because it knows when they are. I leave it on auto and return to find that my clothes have dried to the temperature I specified. I poke my head inside the dryer to look for sensors, but there aren't any. I'm not sure how it knows, but the fact that it can tell the difference between very, more, normal, and damp fascinates me. And it's so quick: 45 minutes for an average-sized load (my old drier could take up to two hours). And, unlike my old drier, which made the Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz If only the clothes dryer could fold them. Perhaps in a decade or so, the next Samsung model I buy will include that feature. The photo below is from delivery day and shows the family refusing to fold.

There are other reasons why this machine is a waste of money, including the fact that I sometimes have to dry our clothes twice to get them dry enough after following the instructions and not overloading the machine. We have the larger capacity dryer because we wash larger blankets and comforters on a regular basis. Ha! Even with the use of tennis balls to keep things moving in the dryer, those items that don't spin dry well (see my review of the companion Samsung washing machine) turn into cocoons of wet fabric after five minutes. So every five to ten minutes, I have to go to the dryer, remove the blanket, shake it well, and replace it. This is not the dryer for you if you have mobility problems, arthritis, or are an older person with weak muscles. Along the same lines, I've dried three or four throw-size blankets with tennis balls to keep things moving around, and one of them is usually stuck in the back of the dryer, also in a cocoon of wetness that just didn't want to join the party with the rest of the throws in the dryer. This is after I carefully removed them from the washer before carefully placing them in the dryer to avoid overloading the dryer with lumpy throw blankets. During shedding season, I also use our dryer's fluff or air only cycle to remove dog hair from the crib size flat sheets I use to cover our dog's various beds throughout the house before washing them. I used blind confidence the first time I did this with this Samsung dryer and tossed them into the Samsung washer after the dryer's fluff cycle. A big blunder: The washer first gave me the unbalanced loand error (again, see washer review), and when I opened it to move the soaking wet crib size flat sheets, my hand was covered in wet dog fur. After a quick inspection of the wet sheets in the washer, I discovered at least five clumps of wet dog fur that the washing machine had kindly formed in the wet sheets for me. The second time I tried to fluff the dog hair off the sheets before washing them, I checked the lint trap, which was still clean after a 20-minute fluff (with tennis balls), and for fun, I took these crib-size flat sheets outside to shake them and ended up completely covered in dog hair (note to self: In the future, stand up for wind). Our previous dryer removed 80% of all fur, as I could see by pulling out the lint trap. This dryer has the potential to remove up to eight strands of dog fur.

When it's done drying, it'll play a really annoying song. Everything else is fine, but it's extremely irritating and I can't seem to get rid of it.
