It has been on my mind for quite some time that I should get a "trash masher. " The solution I chose was the one I evaluated quite a few times before I settled on it. It has only been a couple weeks since I got it, so I've used it only a few times. This product does exactly what the description describes. This listing contains a product video that is very accurate. There are no deceptions in the video. While my conditions are a little different from those shown in the video, perhaps they are not as different from those of most people. As shown in the demo video and pictured in the listing, I use 45 gallon bags and a normal curbside trash receptacle. By the time the can is full, I can stack another 45 gallon bag inside the compactor, plus some more. With some effort, I can fit one on top of that if I leave about 8 to 10 millimeters of space between them I am 10 inches tall. The lid of the 45 gal bag can close completely or I can simply fit several flattened cardboard boxes or other loose articles that don't need to be bagged, replacing the 45 gal bag. It feels like the unit is of high quality and a lot of use. My first review will be amended if I experience any problems with holding a charge or power depleting abnormally due to the charger, ports, switch, and wires. I am still on my first charge, so I will revisit this review if I experience any problems. The machine is very quiet while it is in operation. Depending on the degree of noise, you may have observed a small remote control car or the volume of running water into an empty sink after turning on the faucet. Therefore, I am happy with that (probably so too are my neighbors). It is also easy to maneuver the adjustable arm that fits over the top of the can and snaps into place. In the future, there should be no problem in terms of freezing, as there is enough play to prevent it from becoming stuck at any moment. This is a highly lightweight piece despite being mostly made of metal and aluminum. The handle can be easily handled with just one arm or hand. There is only one critique I can make, and that is that the heavy base plate that does the smashing should be a little larger by like 6 inches A larger plate could be purchased for an additional cost if you want it larger than 8 inches. To get maximum efficiency, I often have to move the plate from the middle to the front or back (this could be due to my preference for the 45 gal bag). Nevertheless, I think it's been a good purchase for the time being. As soon as anything changes, I will come back to this review and amend or update it.
