This time I bit the bullet and ordered these and this is a great/cheap alternative. Exactly like the originals, they fit and install exactly the same. Our water tastes just as good, and we got three filters for less than we were paying for just My recommendation is definitely to try.

This is not the first time we've ordered non-alcoholic beverages There was a name brand filter that was three times the price. Even the Maytag brand for much, much more money didn't differ from this one, that one or the others in the test. My memory serves me correctly, I saw a recommendation to preload The filter must be submerged in water for one hour prior to installation. The impact of that was enormous. Changing to the new system made the transition much easier, and there were no major overflows in the system while we emptied our first handful of gallons. As of now, it has been great to use the new filter - only a couple of weeks into it. In our case, the primary concern was the taste of our local water. The water starts to taste chemically when the filter is As a result, it's like day and night.

You don't need to add water or do anything else before using it like other brands requested

Since I didn't want to pay 45 dollars for the "official" filter, this one was my choice. It was a little intimidating after looking at the 1 star reviews but I decided to give it a shot. It takes only a few minutes to install (just screw it in). There is no need to add water beforehand like other brands are asking for. My whirlpool fridge has been running with this filter for a week, and my water tastes great, and the pressure is just as high as it was with the original filter.

There are differences in packaging

The Whirlpool 8001 brand of filters are compatible with these filters that I've purchased in the past. There was a more substantial packaging with better instructions for previous versions of these filters, yet these filters are similar to the previous versions. As I have not yet installed one of them, we will have to see how they measure up, but previous ones performed.

It's definitely worth a shot to save some money

Last week, I replaced my Amana water filter and was pleasantly surprised to find that it fit without any hassle, and the water tastes great as a result. We noticed a bad taste and odor before replacing and are pleased to report that this filter works very well. It is also a huge savings for this 3-year filter replacement. The filter is a good alternative to the expensive Whirlpool ones

My future use of these will be in these. Both my mother and I enjoy the taste and pressure of our water. We purchased our fridge earlier this year, so the water pressure is the same as before. It is important to perform an air exchange after installation, and remember to empty a few gallons of water afterward. In response to the first bit of water to be dispensed, the filtration element turned the water black. It is normal for some filters to do this. of the package, besides great tasting water, is that it includes three replacements, so we are covered for a while.
