They have a sheen to them, but it's only a veneer. They're not made of stainless steel in the first place. They're also made of less durable plastic than the original, but you can get all five for the price of one from Samsung directly.
It's difficult to tell if they're chrome plated or not. They appear to be chrome, but I believe they are plastic; they are of good quality, and the stem is reinforced with a small band to keep it from breaking. They were initially a little loose, but after adjusting the inner spring metal, they now fit perfectly.
Although the knobs are made of metal, they are likely to have the same plastic internal ring as the original Samsung knobs.

If you try to buy these knobs from Samsung, you'll be charged 70 cents per knob, and they're still plastic on the inside, so they'll break again and again. The inside of these knobs is metal, they fit perfectly, and they cost $35 for a box of five. Astonishing. I'm in ecstasy right now. They're fantastic.
Don't get rid of your old knobs just yet. These knobs appear to be of good quality, both visually and in terms of weight. However, the printing on the Lo•••MED•••HI isn't OEM quality, and a few of the knobs didn't fit snugly after installation. If you buy these, do as I did and replace the small metal "D" sleeve with the ones that came with your old knobs. Those small pieces can be found where the meets the. br>br>update: br>br>update: br>br>update: These don't hold up well in the heat, according to my findings. Please look at the photos. The heat from opening the oven door caused the knob to slightly melt and deform around the red markings. I'd spend a little more money and get the original knobs.
Although we only required one, we were forced to purchase the entire set. They had the same plastic ring issue we were trying to fix when we got them. br>br>My husband was able to glue a metal washer on top of the plastic. The metal washer now secures everything in place. Which we could have done by simply purchasing a metal washer to replace the one we already had that was broken. It's a dreadful design for such an important part of the collection.
Because several of my originals had the shaft cracked, I thought this would be a good replacement. I bought these and they looked great for a while, but then they started falling apart one by one; hopefully it was just a bad batch.
I'm still amazed those knobs had to be replaced. Stove is three years old. That's for sure! They're not made like they used to be!.
These knobs feel more substantial and well-made than the ones that came with my Samsung range. When the range was only a few months old, one of the originals broke. These weren't supposed to go with my black stainless steel, according to the description. I searched and found only Samsung replacement knobs that were ridiculously priced, and I didn't want the same kind that had broken, so I decided to try these. My farm sink is stainless steel, and the handles on all of my black stainless appliances are a lighter color. These are a perfect fit and, according to my husband, they dress up the look of the range. I agree! Now we'll have to wait and see if they outlast the originals. This purchase has so far exceeded my expectations!.
When you consider how much the same manufacturer's knobs cost, it's a no-brainer. This is a fantastic offer! The knobs, on the other hand, aren't very sturdy. It's the second time in as many years that I've had to replace the entire set. And for months, I lived with two knobs that I switched between burners. The factory-made ones, on the other hand, were not any better for the money. br>br>PS- In terms of stove knobs, I'm not sure what "Sheerness" means.
They are very similar and, in my opinion, of higher quality. br>The color is different, but I purchased the set and am in love with it.
