Yes, it's a standard three-pronged plug that can be plugged into any 120-volt outlet. The plug itself is of the "claw" type, which is common to all appliances. I hope this has been of assistance.
220 Volts is the rating for an electric stove. This cord has a voltage rating of 110V. It is not to be used.
It certainly ought to. I have no idea what a model 40 is. ooo_H is correct, but this is just a power cord; as long as it's connected correctly, it should work fine.

I'm never sure whether to give something four or five stars just because it does its job. I suppose I could have gotten a dud and complained about it. However, I was able to get this cord and connect it to my under-cabinet hood. When you learn that hoods are supposed to be hardwired to your house rather than plugged in, it's a rude awakening. I wish I could see how everyone reacted to it. I'm not sure why, but I don't care for the idea of the hood being hardwired to the house, so I ordered a cord. Everything is working now that I've connected everything. It's been nearly a month and there have been no issues. There will be no power outages or breaker trips. I can't say this is the best cord because I've never purchased one. But you can't criticize them for doing their job. So 5 out of 5 stars and a good buy.
I'm not sure why this item isn't recommended when purchasing a NuTone Mantra range hood (despite the fact that it's made by the same company: Broan). I'm glad I found reviews on Amazon, where someone claimed to have used it with his NuTone range hood. So I ordered it, and instead of hiring an electrician, I was able to do it myself. It comes highly recommended!.
It works perfectly; I'm not sure why it's not included in the range hood box for those who require it. Finally, pay attention to the instructions.

(On the West Coast).
I'm very pleased with the product; it fits perfectly and has been operating without a hitch since I installed it. Installation is very simple and quick, and the instructions are very clear and simple to follow. The cord length was ideal, and it came with all of the necessary materials.
It is difficult to set up. It's extremely difficult to get the cord connector into the hood's knockout; The plastic springs that hold the cord in place after installation aren't flexible enough to allow entry. It's difficult to understand the labels: It says it's compatible with the Broan 40000 series (which is what I have); the outer label says it's compatible with the Broan 40000 series (which is what I have); However, the instructions state that it is only UL listed for certain Whirlpool models. (Perhaps the difficulty I had inserting the cord connector was due to the fact that I wasn't supposed to use it on this product?)br>br>Installation instructions could have been more helpful—for example, threading the wires through the Anti-Slip Mat would be much easier. BEFORE brushing the plate onto the hood, rotate it. The plate can rotate around the brushing once it's in place, but it can't be removed once it's in place. br>br>In addition, unless there is a 2" recess beneath the cabinet, the hole in the cabinet bottom must be directly above where the cord attaches to the hood. If you're replacing a hood that already has a hole drilled, the cord connector is too high and the cord coming out of it is too stiff to fish the wire under a standard 3/4" recess and bring the plug through it.
I looked everywhere for a fume hood with a plug, but I couldn't find one. I looked at Home Depot and Lowes and discovered that the Broan models were the best, but they all had to be hardwired. Read the reviews on Amazon before purchasing this kit. Extremely simple to set up - Don't be hesitant to make a purchase. I was very pleased with the purchase because the instructions were very clear and easy to follow.
