The answer is yes. A 54mm basket goes in the breville barista express tamper, a 52mm tamper goes in the other. It is 6 mm thick. Because it is exactly 53 mm, it fits even better than the original factory tamper, an absolutely flawless
My tamper recently arrived and I have noticed that if there is no pressure on it, it will not come loose. However, as soon as I start pushing, the handle moves almost like a joystick, which makes the coffee uneven.
The construction is very sturdy. Astonished at the weight, I went to the bathroom. The tapping action is simple to use. Just click a few times and you're done.
The answer is I do not know. 48mm is the size of the press

It's not a lux product. The following update has been made Removing a star from the rating. An Amazon seller has abused the buyer's privileges for years. I received a message from the seller requesting that this review be removed. You are mistaken, LuxHaus. Getting an honest report on a poor product taken down does NOT qualify as "Additional information required from the Amazon seller". I would like you to stop harassing me. TL f
I thought the outside was nice but the inside was poorly made but was workable after I cleaned it up. This tool is best used for training. . . . and here are the things you need to know about it, A). The handle and the stainless press are really nice. Anodized matte black aluminum and good machining on the stainless steel. 1) The internals are remarkably flawed. I find this absolutely horrifying. To attach the base I saw a stainless steel hex piece (I hope it's stainless steel). I'm fine with that. In addition, there is a threaded nut with an internal hex element. It looks as if someone was drunk when it was built. You do not need to deburr. The number zero. A piece is taken off of the lathe and placed into a A LOT OF METAL SHAVINGS ARE LOOSE, ready to fall into your coffee and contaminate it. Next, there is an off-the-shelf spring, as well as an aluminum fitting that was poorly machined. In fact, there was a large lip left over after the cutoff operation on the top aluminum fitting. I am amazed. I just can't believe how amazing this is. Even the surface finish is torn and covered in machining fluid, as you might guess from the ripped 3) NO, it isn't 30 pounds. I can get between 20 and 45 lbs on a calibrated scale at some point in the stroke, but at 30 lbs at some point in the stroke. The closest thing I can find to a perfect 30 is to take my pinky finger between the base and handle and press until it *just* starts to squeeze.
It was a great tool that allowed me to extract the ultimate naked shot after two grinding adjustments. To accomplish the same feat with an ordinary tamper, I found it difficult. It must be hard to get a 30-percent raise You should not apply 35 pounds of pressure unless you do it regularly. As a result of this tamper, I now have the confidence to do that. Why I failed to buy it years ago is my own fault. It is their ego complex that always causes them to advise against it. A calibrated tamper is the answer for the average person who prefers to grind his or her own shots provided they have a good grinder and.
Tamper looks hefty, well constructed, and is attractive The product was made and shipped The price was reasonable. I have used it with two 51mm single and double baskets on my Gaggia Factory 106 manual lever espresso machine. La Pavoni Millennium is a much more common and readily available brand. In my opinion, my non-existent ability to assist others can't be particularly vouch for This is the methodology for laboratory testing. Ensure sanitary conditions between the tamper and scale by using a piece of paper towel! In the following stages, I pressed on the tamper on the scale until it was fully depressed, holding it there in place until the scale readout registered, without significantly increasing the pressure beyond that required to hold the tamper in place at The results were 27 each time I performed this test three times. It weighed nine pounds and 33 inches in height. It weighs 1 lb and 7 oz The weight of each is approximately 6 lbs. These readings seem within a reasonable range of 30 pounds to me.
As a result of the tamp being consistent for the first time, I feel good about it. All my triples today were consistent in the pour, which was exactly what I was hoping for. I think the quality of the tamper is really good and it feels solid. It is a great value for the money when compared to other calibrated tampers that cost $100 or more.
As of now, I have been using this tamper for a little over a week, and I have to say that it has improved the consistency of my espresso significantly. In addition to weighing the beans and grinding them fresh, this was the last step I needed to accomplish. I think the quality of my shots has improved overall because I maintain consistently strong force and level tamping. It is always the same strength, the cream is dense and full, and the flavor is spot on (there is no over or under extraction). In addition to the results that show how effective this tamper is, there is also excellent workmanship to be noticed. As a result, it doesn't feel uncomfortable or unwieldy in your hand because of its weight and solidity. With this tool, I feel like I can consistently place it correctly and level with ease as it is a size and shape that fits my hand. Despite being stiff (it's supposed to be stiff! it has no problem compacting to tamp grounds in my Portafilter. Compression is easy to use and there is an obvious indication when it is complete. Quality is of the highest standard as well. This steel base has been turned, cut, and etched very precisely, and is flawless. A finely polished handle with good grip is a nice complement to my modern looking machine and contemporary kitchen. It blends into any setting without being abrasive. This product is great and I would recommend LuxHaus to anyone who asks because the price/value ratio is excellent!.
