Hello there, this is just a transmitter. To communicate with the remote, your fan would require a receiver. To be certain, I recommend calling Minka Aire.
It's got to be rf, right? It's not called "line of sight" for nothing.
The firm assisted me in determining what I should expect to receive via email.
The fan is directly communicated with using this hand-held device. It has the ability to be hung on the wall. Then it's taken out of the mount and put back in. A different device that can be mounted on the wall and has similar controls is available.

If you have an older Minka-Young, you can use it. If you have an Aire ceiling fan, I recommend contacting Minka Group customer service to determine which receiver, wall control, and handheld remote control are compatible with your fan (and whether you need to replace both the receiver and the wall control). For my 17-year-old son, year- The WCS213 Wall Control Switch, RCS213 Remote Control Switch, and P001022100S Receiver (also known as Minka Lavery Minka Aire P001022100S Up) are all old fans. I can't find it by searching for the part number right now, but here's the Amazon Smile link: Down Light with a picture of nuts and bolts). There is no button on the WCS213 wired wall control or the RCS213 wireless handheld control to reverse the direction the fan spins. You'll need a receiver, wall control, and handheld control compatible with that type of fan if you have to climb a ladder to flip a physical switch to reverse the spin direction (which should be counterclockwise for a cooling downdraft). br>br>With each Minka Aire ceiling fan, I use both a wall control and this handheld control, but I don't believe the wall control is necessary; You could simply make use of this handheld controller. If a wall control and a handheld control (or two handheld controls) are used with the same ceiling fan, the dipswitch codes must be the same, and the codes must be different for each ceiling fan to avoid interference. The receiver does not have a dipswitch setting. Set a dipswitch code on the wall control and/or handheld control, then follow the instructions to teach the receiver that code, or to "pair" the receiver with that code, so that any nearby wall control or handheld control set to that code can control the fan. br>br>The basic teaching/pairing instructions are as follows: 1) turn off the power at the breaker box before installing the receiver and wall switch; 2) turn off the power at the breaker box before installing the receiver and wall switch; 3) turn off the power at the breaker box before installing the receiver and wall switch; 4) turn off the power at the 2) Turn the breaker back on while the wall control on/off switch is off. 3) Turn on the wall switch's on/off switch; 4) Press and hold the fan stop button (located in the middle of the large round multi-function display) for a few seconds. (Don't press any other buttons before the stop button) until the fan's downlight blinks; If the downlight doesn't blink after a few seconds, release the stop button and press and hold it again (if this step doesn't work, you'll have to turn the breaker off, then back on, and repeat the teaching process); 5) Press and hold the stop button for a few seconds; 6) Check that all of the buttons on the wall control are functional. br>br>A handheld remote control programmed with the same dipswitch code should also function properly. If a wall control switch is not available, I believe the above procedure can be used to teach the receiver the dipswitch setting using the handheld control. Setting a different dipswitch code than the factory default prevents nearby fan controls from interfering with one another.
When used as directed, it is effective. br>The lamp intensity control is a little finicky at first, but I've grown accustomed to it. br>I'm not sure how long it'll last, but it looks nearly identical to the one that came with the fan and lamp. br>It's OVERPRICED because it's a required accessory if you don't want to lose control of the fan if the one that came with it breaks or is lost (my electrician says there's no easy way to control this fan from a wired switch). YOU SHOULD HAVE MORE THAN THREE, SO YOU'VE BOUGHT ANOTHER FAN IN CONTROLLERS AFTER THE FIRST THREE. br>Aside from that, everything is fine.
I had an Aire F845 and needed a second remote control. Model dl- could not be found. 4111g- 01 that came with the fan, so I decided to take a chance and see if this remote would work. Bingo! Everything is in order. Simply make sure the jumpers in the battery compartment are configured the same way they were on your original remote. I'm very happy!.
It worked after a while of holding down the programming buttons. If there are lights, they will flash. It was difficult because of this. Aside from that, it's a great substitute for an outdoor fan!.
I haven't been able to get it to find the dip switch settings on its own, so before I go back, I'll try to locate them inside the fan hub. This has been aggravating because we recently bought a house and the remotes were not included.
Our overhead fan's original remote has been misplaced or lost. This was an ideal substitution. It's simple to use and comes with a handy holder that can be mounted or removed. This made us very happy.
The five-star rating is for both the product and the vendor's customer service. I bought two of these remotes (RC213) for my ceiling fans and attempted to connect them to the fans. I discovered that I had ordered the wrong remote and that the RC210 should have been ordered instead. Capitol Lighting's toll-free number is 1-877-CAPITAL-LIGHTING. One of their customer service agents treated me professionally and courteously when I called their toll-free number. Capitol Lighting has taken the items back despite the fact that I had opened one of the plastic sealed wrapped containers from one of the remotes. For your information, the remotes were delivered directly to me from Minka Aire within a week of ordering them from Capitol Lighting.
It was simple, aside from the fact that the original died after ten years. It's as simple as matching the code from the previous one and it'll work right away.
