It's a standard American size that fits all of the big-box store fans. You'd have to double-check with aadvik because it sounds like it's from another country and thus might not be legal.
Can you- sure. Do you think you should- In no way. Even if you only have a 12, get a 36. There are 24 of them lying around. You don't want that to loosen and fall, not only because it will look tacky. On the fan, they thread as well as have a pin.
I'm guessing downrods come in a variety of sizes.
No, 26021 isn't one of them. I made a purchase based on the following response. It was not threaded on both ends, despite the claims of three people.

I was disappointed, but I will not return the down rod. I needed it fast, so I ordered this "Hunter Brand" down rod, but ended up with this "not as advertised" (non-Hunter brand) down rod instead. It fits the Hunter fan and is a close match in color. After all, a 12' ceiling is used for the down rod and fan. Because this is not a genuine Hunter product, you may want to look for other threaded down rods that are less expensive.
In this room, I've used several downrods and fans. The builder placed the fan hookup right where the two sloped ceilings meet, for some reason. Before this one, every downrod and fan I'd put in shook. But I'm glad I came across this. There was no swaying at all, and the length was perfect!.
constructed and dependable However. In general, this is a good piece. Its appearance and feel are compatible with any brushed nickel ceiling fan (of which I own several), and it is well-made. constructed and dependable My only complaint is that the holes in the threading don't line up with most original downrod ground wire screws, and the holes in the threading appear to have been drilled in such a way that the threading bends around the holes, preventing the threading from screwing down any further once the threading within the ceiling fan housing meets the holes. Because ground wires should also be present in the ceiling mount, and the holes should still appear with enough room for the yoke pin to fit, these issues are actually less of a problem than they appear.
For my Hunter Contempo, I purchased two 24" extension rods to install at the recommended height for a 11 ft ceiling. Hunter designed the rod, which perfectly complements the fan's quality and color. At $10 each, these are a fantastic value.
It was an exact match for the model I was looking for in a room with a high vaulted ceiling for my new fan.
Rod was structurally sound, but he preferred brushed nickel, which he received instead. I'm not sure if this was a description or shipping error.
It is a good deal. For a small savings, you can get the same ones at Lowe's.
Big Air 96 is not compatible. The diameter is too large to connect to a fan.
