I have a couple of closets that have the old pull-out shelves. I added something similar to this from a local store about a year ago, which had a metal ball on the end, to the chain. It was convenient to have the simpler-to-use option. I could easily collide with the ball if I walked down each chain. The ball, while not heavy enough to stress the hanging cord, bounced around and got in the way if I was on a ladder trying to reach the higher shelves. (Because I used an LED bulb in the fixture, the heat generated by the bulb was not an issue. ) br>br>I decided I needed something similar for the other closet and bought a pair because they were only about $2 more expensive than a single one, and I ended up using both and replacing the one with the ball on the end. That's significant because the wooden oval at the end of these weighs less than you might expect; at first, I thought to myself, "well, what do you expect for this price?" but then realized that in this case, less is more: It's preferable to have something that doesn't swing far if you bump it and can easily move out of the way if you're reaching past it for something once the light is turned on. br>br>I'd buy more of these if I had more places to put them.
GOOD- LOOKING FOR A REASONABLE PRICE, but here it is, anyone with a ceiling fan, we can't imagine why you'd need more than these 2 to turn the light on and off. turn up the heat first and foremost, we are ecstatic! accompanied by them! br>br>We only have fans without lights; if we had fans with lights, we'd get different colors so you could tell which one is for the fan at a glance. which is the one for the light? br>br>BETTER yet, we just discovered that the same company makes these pull chains for fans with lights, and they've done something VERY SMART by making the end of one LOOK JUST LIKE A FAN and the end of the other is a little bulb at the end! THIS IS THE ONLY COMPANY WE WOULD BUY FROM, AND WE WOULDN'T BUY FROM ANYONE ELSE!.
I needed 12" extensions because I couldn't reach the regular pull chains on my ceiling fan. br>$5 is a good price. I was a little hesitant at first because of the low price, but they turned out to be perfect. br>It was crucial that the color of the pulls match the color of my fan blades. A pair of bronze 12" long chains are included in the package, with a wooden walnut pull attached to the bottom of each. br>The chain and wooden pull are heavy enough to hang straight rather than swing. This set of pull chains and pulls comes highly recommended by me. They're simple to put together, look great, and are well worth the money.
It would have been nice if there was a longer chain option, but they were advertised as 12", so I can't take that away from the rating.
Finally, I can reach my living room fan, thanks to a friend who got up on a ladder for me because I'm 72 and they're afraid I'll fall. Now there's no need to be concerned because I won't be falling.
The chain on the light fixture was simply clipped on. It will no longer be necessary for short people (kids) to jump for it. I would strongly suggest it.
These were a great match and a good value.
Installing it was a breeze. It's been yanked on a lot without causing any issues. I'm a fan of the appearance as well.
