I recently stayed with her due to a broken ankle, and as I sat on her couch wishing the remote for her very old ceiling fan would work (since the AC was broken), I decided to do some Amazon searching. I took a chance when I came across a remote that looked identical to her old one. I had done enough research by the time it arrived to know that there were four small switches inside the remote, so I used a metal nail file to pull one of them down to match the configuration in her old remote. It was a complete failure! She had given me a 'new' battery to put in the old remote, so I went to her kitchen drawer to see if there was another 9 volt, which there was. VOILA! You've got it! In the blink of an eye, a fan that hadn't been able to be used in years was working! The new remote has a red 'eye' on it! She couldn't believe her eyes. She'd been told by a Home Depot employee that she'd never be able to find another remote! Is he unfamiliar with Amazon?.

WARNiNG. It was stated in the advertisements for this product that it was compatible with Harbor Breeze fans. br>I expected to be able to use it right away after receiving it. br>Place a 9-volt battery inside and the fan will not turn on. br>The remote control's manual claims there are 16 switch selections inside, but it doesn't say which one will work with my ceiling fan! br>However, in order for the "universal remote control" to work, I need to disassemble my ceiling fan (which is already attached to the ceiling) and match its switch setting to the universal remote. Don't waste your money on this nonsense.

The delivery of the unit was timely. My Hunter fan is only a few years old, and it has been plagued by either a faulty watt limiter or signal loss. It would also be nice if it had a separate set of light input wires for those who have a separate light circuit in their ceiling box, but I'm not sure if anyone makes a remote unit that can do that. Just stating that it would be nice if someone did so for those who desire it. There are no complaints because the device works well.

This remote looks identical to the one I'm trying to replace, but it's from a different manufacturer, and it says it's compatible with my fan in the description. It didn't work after I got it and tried to program it according to the instructions. The instructions are also not very good. I knew I should have returned it, but I forgot, and now I'm stuck with two broken remotes.

Because our home was not originally wired for ceiling fans, the majority of the fans had to be installed with wireless switches. These then function in the same way, allowing you to keep the remote near your desk, bed, couch, or other convenient location. br>As long as you can find the correct PIN switch combination for your current switch, setup was a breeze. To avoid drilling holes in the wall, I used Command Strips to mount the wall mount. Everything is in order.

This is the third time we've talked about different brands. I'm guessing there's a problem with these kits because of the age of our harbor breeze fan. The fan or the light will turn on out of nowhere. In comparison to the others we tried, this one does the least. I'm going to keep it for now because a new fan and light would be too expensive. Everything else works perfectly and is very quiet to use. I recommend that you give it a shot. The majority of people, it appears, do not have this problem.
