give these bags a 5 out of 5 Starting with the basics is the best way to go. A recent hike in black bear country led me to purchase them. I was able to stuff quite a lot of snacks, dry bag meals, and self-catering food in here I folded out the nuts, dried fruit, and other items and pushed as much air out of them as I could to compact them within the food stuff bag so they did not take up much space. In close proximity, I was unable to smell anything from the bags, as I do not have the same sensitivity as the forest animals. We hung the food stuff sacks in a tree at night, so they did not get It is not clear from my experience how long these bags last before they must be replaced, since I have not used them more than five days.
