I just had a quick failure, and I'm not sure if it'll be covered under warranty! I made a video to show you what this sounds like. br>br>Just an update, it still works, but it isn't very powerful and can't handle multiple tires. You also can't go from a completely flat tire to a fully inflated one without overheating the engine. I attempted to warranty it at the time you heard the video, but I was unable to contact Ryobi, and they were unable to resolve my issues or respond to my emails. br>br>I wanted to provide an update so that people are aware that it is still functional, but its capacity is insufficient for filling multiple tires. I would recommend it as an emergency product only, not for filling multiple tires.
It is necessary to have patience. Basketballs and bicycle tires would be ideal candidates for this. None of those are available to us. We have the tires on a riding mower, and they work perfectly there as well. Yes, car tires can be inflated, and we do so, but it takes a long time; use a large battery or have another on hand. Remember that the Ryobi One system's strength is in its simplicity and commonality, not in its raw power. br>br>Tip for users: The LCD pressure reading is only accurate when the pump is turned off, but it's useful to have a real tire gauge on hand until you get used to the "offset" between the pump's reading and that of a real gauge.
In order to inflate, the switch for inflating must be squeezed and held. This isn't stated explicitly anywhere. Unlike most inflation devices, this one does not have a switch that stays on until the desired pressure is reached. 5 stars.
I have my reservations after reading some of the 1. 2 star reviews. I'm prepared to return it if the pump fails to meet my expectations. However, after using the pump, I am convinced that this is an excellent purchase. This is an easy choice for me because I already own Ryobi battery-operated nail guns. br>br>I continuously pumped a flat tire from 0 to 32 psi in 8 minutes without using a jack. During operation, the device as well as the battery remained cool. br>br>The pressure gauge is not accurate when the pump is operating. br>br>The device is a little loud during operation, but I assume it is no worse than other brands. br>br> In addition, the LCD will not turn on unless the pump is turned on. In this case, I believe an analog pressure gauge is the best option.
Trash. Do not make a purchase. br>br>It was a waste of money to inflate a single tire.
This is a really cool item. It's possible that accidentally touching the hair trigger, which starts the compressor right away, will startle you when you connect the battery. I've had mine for about three months and find it to be very convenient to carry, use, and read. It's only for a few pounds of air in my car tires. A longer fill time causes the motor to make horrible noises (dry piston/cylinder?). ) noises indicating that you should let go of the trigger and wait for it to calm down. However, if used responsibly, this unit is well worth purchasing, even if only for the sake of convenience. Add a stub to the compressor body to park the valve cap on while filling the tire if they want to make it better.
If you have to add to all four tires, it becomes exhausting, but who wouldn't? Allow it to rest before returning to work. It was no problem increasing the pressure in one truck tire from 40 to 86 psi! Because you must inflate to about a pound and a half above your desired psi, then stop inflating, and then check the pressure again, accuracy is fairly good. Then you'll know exactly what you're talking about. I used to despise dragging out the small compressor to change a single tire, but this device makes it so simple!.
However, I would not recommend this to someone who uses a car or has large tires on a regular basis. I don't believe it would be able to withstand such abuse. Though I've used it to inflate a tire on rare occasions, I wouldn't recommend it on a regular basis.
