Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use a framing nailer with this compressor?

Mine will have a pressure of 150 psi. With the nail gun connected to the compressor, I can fire 16 penny nails. My tank is actually connected to a larger tank that was once part of a much larger compressor. I have a hose that runs from the large tank that I use for nailing, blow cleaning chainsaws, etc., as well as airing tires and using my impact wrench.

Is it possible to set the regulator pressure so that you don't overinflate the tire, or can you see the pressure in the tire using the gauge?

You can set the maximum pressure to inflate your tire by turning a knob that is connected to a gauge with a needle, but it is only loosely accurate in my opinion. Once your tire is inflated, I recommend checking it with a tire gauge.

Is it possible to use this compressor with pneumatic equipment?

Yes, to put it bluntly. It's worked well with framing and finish nailers, as well as pneumatic impact wrenches, air guns, and other tools. If you use too much air, it may require a short break to catch up, but this is only a problem on rare occasions. My 60 Amp plasma cutter can exceed the compressor capacity, but even with that large tool, it gives about a 50% duty cycle. In residential construction projects, this size compressor is frequently used with framing nailers. Some tools, like any compressor, require the use of an air dryer or lubricator.

115 psi is the minimum pressure required for my RV tires. Is this going to energize them?

Yes, this would work for your application if you provided the proper attachment.

It works well and fits neatly in a compartment on
5/5

This compressor was bought with one goal in mind: to keep the tires on my RV properly inflated. It works well and fits perfectly in a compartment on the side of my RV, right next to a 115v outlet. So I can use it without an extension cord inside the compartment, and it is extremely quiet because the compartment absorbs noise like a sponge. I made use of a plug-in. My RV is connected to my home via shore wire, and I have an in meter that monitors volts, amps, watts, hertz, and watt hour. Here are the results: 119 is the voltage when there is no load. 2. The load voltage is 110. As pressure increased, watts ranged from 1068 to 1100, and amps ranged from 9. 6 to 10. 1 due to the application of force I also have a 1200 watt inverter, but I'll need to upgrade to a 2000 watt pure sine wave to run the compressor. I never recommend running the compressor on a modified inverter because the sine wave is almost square and will quickly ruin the compressor motor. I'm very pleased with my compressor; it's the ideal combination of size, power, and price.

The little compressor with a lot of power
5/5

For the price, this is a great little unit, but the manual and instructions are nearly useless. Remember to do the break-in period; the manual doesn't say much about it. Run the tank for 15 minutes with the pressure valve open at the bottom. After that, simply close it and you're ready to go.

Air compressor that can be taken anywhere
5/5

I purchased this Porter Cable Oil Free Air Compressor to use with my finish nail guns because I was tired of lugging around my old Craftsman 33 gallon air compressor for small jobs and needed something more portable. This Porter Cable Pancake Air Compressor meets my requirements, performs admirably, and is far more convenient to transport. It's still a little noisy, but it keeps a good amount of air pressure, which isn't bad for a $100 air compressor. I am very happy with my purchase, which arrived in excellent condition and on time.

Compressor is fantastic
5/5

COMPRESSOR IS AMAZING! This pancake compressor is incredible in terms of ease and convenience. When you're finished using your compressor, make sure you hold it at an angle to drain any water that has built up. You don't want rust to form inside your tank, which could lead to it bursting later due to abuse. This tank quickly builds pressure and only needs to run for a short period of time to maintain it. I use it as a 3" framing nailer, a 2" finish nailer, and to blow dust and dirt away from various items. This air compressor is one that I strongly suggest.

If you really want a good tool for the job, go with Dewalt
3/5

I used to own some Porter Cable products, and they were of good quality and didn't cost a fortune. So I went ahead and ordered this unit right away. I received it, and everything appeared to be in good working order. Two days later, I needed to pump up my truck tires, so I read all of the instructions and followed each step meticulously. So I connected it to the power source. It ran for about 2 or 3 minutes before blowing white smoke from the top of the unit due to the extreme heat. I was wearing gloves, so hopefully I was able to pull the power cord out. I was so worried that my boys would try to use it that I put it in a box and tossed it in the trash. I contacted Amazon Customer Service, who told me that they couldn't help me and that I should send an email to the seller. Their response a day later was that they could do anything because I Trashed it. I wasn't planning on getting my money back, nor was I hoping for it. They offered a refund or replacement after they were informed that the product was a safety hazard. So, Amazon and unknown sellers are no longer on my shopping list. The next time I burn my house down, I'd rather go to the store.

The size is nice, but the quality isn't very good
3/5

This would be a great little compressor for home use on a regular basis - tire inflation and other tasksbr>br>- Mine lasted about 2 hours before starting to leak air (under the plastic compressor cover)br>- These small oil-free diaphragm pump compressors are incredibly, excruciatingly loud (in comparison, my 3 1/2 HP oil lube shop compressor is almost silent). br>- This Porter Cable C2002 model is also known as a Craftsman, Bostich, Husky, and other brand names. They're all the same Chinese unit, just with different paint and stickers. br>br>Be wary of the seller - CPO - isn't Prime, so you'll have to drive 20 miles to the nearest UPS drop-off location to return your new but leaking compressor. (Defective Prime shipments are picked up by UPS, and Prime will quickly arrange a replacement if that's what you want. ) br>If it hadn't been for the CPO return hassle, I would have given it another shot with the C2002. br>br>- Finally, if you plan to use one of these regularly (i. e. , more than a few hours per month), don't buy one. a period of more than 30 minutes within an hour). It'll break down eventually - or - failure due to overheating - as well as If you do decide to buy one, give it a 20-minute break-in period (male coupler in outlet plus open tank drain valve). br>I hope that this information is useful.

Not dependable- There is an air leak
3/5

It's a nice little compressor, but there's a leak somewhere that allows air to slowly escape the tank after it's been sitting for a while. It turns off at 150 psi, then gradually drops by 20 psi every two or three days. I ran soapy water through the fittings but couldn't find any leaks. As a result, there must be a leak beneath the cover that I am unable to access. Because I only use it for auto and tractor tires, the unit will suffice for me. I wouldn't recommend this brand because of the poor quality control in the leaks area and the inability to rely on it when it's really needed; on the other hand, my 45-year-old Campbell Hausfeld tank compressor has never leaked air and is still going strong.

This is a fantastic little compressor
5/5

This small compressor has left a lasting impression on me. The components have a high-quality feel to them, and it appears to be well-made; the cutout was exact at 150 psi, and all fittings were leak-free. As the tank cooled, tank pressure dropped about 10 psi for the first hour, but then remained constant at 140 psi for over 24 hours with no observable changes, which I think is fantastic. This type's noise and vibration levels are typical - You won't want to stand next to it for more than a minute or two without hearing protection, and despite having rubber feet, it will move around on a smooth surface like concrete. The knob on the regulator is stiff, but it can be fine-tuned. The handle is well-designed, making it simple to carry. This one is difficult to beat at under $90 on Amazon.
