I'm not sure how loud it is, but it's very quiet; earplugs are not required. I really like this air compressor.
The sound level is significantly reduced when it is inserted into the air intake. For such a small aquarium-style tube, the difference is significant.
Oiless compressors can usually be stored on their side, though I wouldn't recommend using it that way.
The answer is a little more complicated than that. Plasma cutters require four people to operate them. @ 90 SCFM, 8 SCFM 120PSI. This unit can be used, but the duty cycle of your cutter will determine whether or not it is appropriate. The 1620S is a good option. It can accommodate up to five people. At 90 psi, 3SCFM is produced. With a small plasma cutter, you'll be more consistent, and the higher throughput will result in cleaner cuts.

The compressor is quite good in and of itself. It's very quiet and does exactly what it's supposed to do. I did dock one star, but I'll explain why later. br>br>Prepare br>br> It was simple to get to the top. Rubber feet and an air filter should be attached. Plug it in and get going! br>br>The extremely low noise level was incredible. My shop's walls were vibrating from the noise of a traditional oil-less compressor. It frightened and upset small children. br>br>The tank fills up in less than two minutes and recharges quickly. Low-volume air tools, tire filling, inflatable toys, and a resin pressure pot are all things I use it for. br>br>To drain the water, there is a nice sized knob. The buttons and dials are simple to understand and use. In general, this compressor has exceeded my expectations. But. br>br>I deducted a star because of poor customer service and a wobble caused by one of the lower support brackets that was slightly bent. With a compressor, there can't be any wobble! I requested assistance from the company three times via email. They responded with a request for additional information (invoice copy, serial number, purchase information, and so on). All of this information was included in every email I sent. I replied, including all of the information once more. There has been no reply. In two days, I sent the requested information again. There has been no reply. br>br>The dent in the metal wasn't a big deal because I was able to fix it with some shims, but their lack of response was annoying. What happens if the product fails catastrophically during the warranty period? Unfortunately, I do not believe they will respond, and I will be left with a broken compressor.
Fixed- It's getting better now. First and foremost, I'd like to state that I was very excited to receive this compressor from California Air Tools. I can't speak for the rest of their models, but this is for the CAT-. 4710SQ. br>br>Arrived in a state of disarray. br>br>Regulator is broken. br>br>Psi gauge is stuck at 20 psi despite the fact that it has never been turned on. br>br>Solenoid valve brokebr>br>Take it all apart to discover the tank and fitting are rusted on the inside. br>br>I bought this for airbrushing and now that I've gotten it up and running, it's really nice. The box it was shipped in was too big and I suspect I got a returned unit. However, it performs as expected in terms of quietness. I've been airbrushing until 1 a. m. and I'm loving it! You'd have to spend a lot more money if you wanted an equivalent spec compressor for "airbrushing. " I needed to: br>br> Replace all of the fittings with brass ones - Change the solenoid, or "electromagnetism" as it's called in the manual--the ones on it were steel and already rusted inside. br> My package was damaged upon arrival. Don't strip the one on it because it's fragile. br>Take all fittings apart and cover them with Teflon tape. It leaked a lot when it arrived. br>Install a new regulator. My boat was broken when it arrived, but a quick trip to the harbor fixed it for under $20. br>br>I can't guarantee that yours will require all of this. However, if you want to get rid of leaks, you'll need to disassemble this device. It's not difficult, but if you don't like working with your hands, I'd recommend another model. After dealing with all of this, I increased the rating from one to three stars. It's functional, but it's hot as hell.
These are fantastic pieces of equipment. For work with the wheels, I bought the one just above this one, and it is by far the best. This one is essentially the same as the previous one, but without the wheels. These are fantastic pieces of equipment. We've had the one at work for three years and use it on a daily basis; it's still as good as the day it was delivered. Because I work in a school, we required some peace and quiet. It's hard to believe how quiet it is here. The air hissing into the tank can be heard over the compressor running when it first starts up with no pressure. This one was purchased for use at home. I'm going to build a cart for mine so that I can transport it. Great product; I'd buy another and have told my friends about it.
This is fantastic. In my shop, I also have a 60 gallon oiled belt drive compressor. This unit is much quieter than the 60 gallon model. So far, there have been no problems, and I don't see why there should be. It's lightweight and easy to carry up the stairs. I bought it primarily for nail guns, as I used to fill a 5-gallon tank and use it in the house for my nailers. I had to refill when the nails didn't sink far enough. This is something I should have purchased years ago. I'm glad I went with the higher flow model instead of the single stage models because they're supposed to be quieter. This device is quiet enough to be used in a small space without disturbing other people. The nailers are a lot louder than the hammers.
If you're fed up with your eardrums, there's a solution for you. If you're tired of the cacophony of pancake compressors, do yourself a favor and upgrade to this model. It is as quiet as advertised, which makes for a significant improvement in the working environment. Another criticism of the pancake units is this: In recent years, quality assurance has been lacking. Despite the brand's renown, two Porter-owned companies have filed for bankruptcy. Both of my cable pancake compressors developed leaks and other issues that were difficult/impossible to fix satisfactorily. Unfortunately, you won't be able to get real customer service. This compressor, on the other hand, exudes quality in every way. br>br>However, keep in mind that the unit weighs about ten pounds more than a pancake compressor. But, in exchange for the significant noise reduction, I'd gladly make that trade. In addition, you'll get a bigger tank, which means less cycling. Simply replace the stock rubber feet with a good set of locking casters to increase mobility. br>br>Due to the reduced noise factor, I'm replacing a lot of power tools. Goodbye, gas trimmers and blowers, and hello, 40V electrics. What a stark contrast! For far too long, the assault on ears has been going on. And the threat is grave, with potentially life-altering consequences.
This air compressor is without a doubt the quietest I've ever used! I'm amazed at how quiet it is, but I did replace the coupler right away because it was leaking slowly. To be honest, the couple was probably fine and the problem could have been solved with some Teflon tape, but it needed to be replaced because my tools use a different coupler style. br>br>Overall, this is a fantastic product that I would buy again and recommend to anyone who enjoys listening to their own thoughts.
