Does this refer to an enclosed trailer, or are you asking about ?

A tilt trailer needs this kind of trailer

Do you know if anyone has riveted them The idea of attaching them through the use of zip ties is a good idea. ?

This should work fine. Thanks for the idea It will only take a few rivets of the right length. I would rivet the supplied screws to a galvanized trailer if you have an aluminum trailer. If you have a steel trailer, the supplied screws should work fine. As a side note - I ended up using stainless machine screws Take care not to allow the drill bit to go too deep when drilling holes! If you chew up some wiring, you might end up with a mess! I didn't use stop collars on my drill bits (I

The items mentioned here say 4 pieces, but do you mean 4 pieces in the sense of two sleds, or do you mean 2 plastics and 2 metal straps? Thanks a lot! ?

It has been stated by others as well. A guide is made up of four plastic pieces. Two sleds can be made from it. I have been wearing mine for a few weeks now and they are holding up well! With the trailer, I can use my Quad and a Home Cheapo / bLowes trailer at the same time!

This is not true for all trailers, because the provided screws can There is a new Snopro tilt trailer in my possession
3/5

Towards the ground, the aluminum edge is rounded on one end with a gap of two and a half inches. In order to reach the ground when mounting the transition, I needed to mount it on the rounded trailer edge to prevent it from being ripped off by the carbide. I could not mount it on the flat trailer edge since it would be too high off (This is a shame), it is a design flaw by Snopro. Afterwards, I turned down the ski glides so that they formed a continuous surface so that the carbides would not get caught during loading and unloading. The screws are not ideal for mounting in aluminum, as others have mentioned. It takes a long time to install them because they easily snap off. Besides providing the appropriate screws, Caliber should also offer a wider range of design options to account for different trailer edge shapes. I just updated A bit of expansion was allowed by repositioning the ski glides and a little trimming was done because the edge guards partially blocked the tail light. Things are now back to normal. The bottom line is that you may have to customize the setup to work for your snowmobile. I ran my snowmobile up and down the trailer a few times and it worked without a problem.

A safer option
5/5

This is a great product. As I drive my sleds onto the trailer, I feel much safer. My trailer's aluminum had heads that broke easily even after drilling the appropriate size hole in the aluminum with the provided screws (not longer ones). I therefore purchased slightly larger stainless steel screws instead.

There was some concern regarding how the screws are mounted, but the product is ok
3/5

The screws to install are easily broken, so I predrilled the holes as instructed, then used my hand screwdriver to install the screws. I am a little concerned about how long these will last the way they are mounted. My snowmobile managed to go over there easily once I drove on it. My friend's sled with dual carbides ripped off a piece right off my trailer on March 29, 2018. I contacted Caliber for a lifetime warranty as these screw holes are now destroyed and the screws cannot be reinstalled. It's been a couple of days since I heard It was concerning to me how these were mounted, and now I know why it is so. Upon calling them, I will be sure to ask what their response to my warranty concerns is.

That's better than having to use The Caliber Edge Transitions I purchased are a result of talking with a friend about how hard the tilt-bed trailer edging is on the ski carbides and also the risk of the carbides caught on it causing the sled to abruptly stop if they got caught
5/5

I highly recommend them they are easy to install and do the job well. I sure feels better than a 2x4 attached to the trailer now that they are hung from the trailer The trailer's thick transition made it hard for the skis to get over. I highly recommend this book!.

The kit contains screws that you should be careful with
3/5

Make sure you use caution! I don't have any problems with them. It is not a very good idea to use the screws provided. Not a single warning or specification regarding torqueing was mentioned in the instructions. My drill driver had the torque set at 8 when I used it. The number is very The drill was just starting to ratchet beyond its torque point, but this was not strong enough to drive the screw in. Therefore, I set 10 as the number. As the screw drove in, the head snapped off at the neck where the screw was inserted. You've already driven it home without having to really do anything about it. When driving these screws in the trailer bed or frame, this has to be done with great care. It is not possible to use the screws supplied. As well as being Stainless Steel, they are also highly durable. You should be able to use the guide as it appears to work fine. However, you should be aware of the poor quality of the screws. I would advise Caliber to fix the issue as soon as possible.

You don't have to worry about hung up carbides anymore
5/5

There is a clam shell tilt trailer that I own. The skis and powder had to negotiate a high, 2 inch aluminum lip when I was in the load/unload position. Sled tracks that do not have a good grip on the ground (e. It was necessary to get a running start and bite down on the aluminum lip (I chewed up the aluminum lip quite a bit). I came close to being thrown off the sled once, when the carbides bit into the aluminum and the aluminum refused to yield. Edge glides made a smooth transition from the parking lot to the ski guides on the trailer and made the waiting time from parking to ski guides so much easier. It was sub-zero weather recently and we did not see any cracks when we flexed the pipes. Loading the sled has been made much safer. The product is great. I'm very happy with it.

This is such a good idea! The weather will tell how well it will hold up to this winter
4/5

It wasn't as easy as it seemed to install. As for drilling a hole and screwing in the screw, they advise you to do that. Well, they supply you with cheap screws that will strip out over time. There was nothing I could do to make the screws firmly sock down, even after drilling the hole bigger. Those screws went I thought you might like to see my galvanized trailer and see if the underside is rough. My trailer looks quite sturdy and is galvanized. The wall squares used were most likely 1/8" in size. If you have an aluminum trailer, these screws will probably work fine. But if you have a steel trailer, don't think of them! If not for the screws and the fact that I would have had to go and spend more money to attach it, I would have given it a higher rating.

A length sufficient to capture the tip is required. The season before last, it was used only a few times. Their value can only be determined by the course of the season. Everything seems to be going well so far.
