In order to install these, will you have to lift the backend of the machine? In what way do they differ from placing a section of 2x4 under a ?

In order to insert these under the track, I do need to lift the back of the machine. It's possible to use the 2x4 as you suggested, but it won't integrate as well with the Caliber Trax Grabber.

Could this also be used for storage during the summer months?

I believe so.

The paddles measure 3" in diameter and I have two of these for my long track snowmobiles. As the machine is sat, the weight is taken off the track paddles to prevent them from curling. They are very durable and intended for heavy duty usage. In addition to needing to lift the machine every time you use it, I downgraded the rating because it requires a lot of maintenance. don't forget to pick them up once the machine has been lifted from I would say at least. One of the five stars of a missing star is for the cost of a rubber piece. $7 trailer wheel chocks made of what appears to be the same material. It would have been 99) if the remaining four had been there. If they could be permanently attached to the trailer, then I'd rate them as a five-star product.
