Towing a toboggan behind an ATV is probably not a good idea.
Selected User Reviews For Flexible Flyer Wood Toboggan. Snow Sled Adults & Kids
On the first run down a small hill, the sled cracked (see first photo). I received a replacement within a week (excellent customer service), but it was cracked in several places while still in the box (see last three photos). Looking at the other reviews, I wondered if I was the only one who had a bad experience with the first sled. However, after receiving the replacement, I either had the bad luck of being assigned to the manufacturer's worst QA inspector twice, or the other reviews were awarded the company's Golden Apples. The only reason I gave it a one-star rating was because of the excellent customer service.
This vintage wooden toboggan was pricey, but well worth it. Parent and child will have a great time. The sledding hill was a big hit with my son and his two-year-old. To get a turn, the kids in the neighborhood formed a line. I was concerned that the curve would not hold up, but it has.
Well- made. We made it more comfortable by adding the pad. Without the pad, it would be extremely difficult to use. We also had it waxed; it didn't move much without it, but once it was waxed, it flew like a bird. It was a great time. I would strongly suggest it.
This is the best sled on the market. Ours has been in service for nearly four years. During the off-season, we look after the wood. It's pricey, but it's the best, and a little wax every year or two helps to preserve and speed up the wood's aging process. Negative feedback from customers who did not care for the wood should be ignored.
It functions as a toboggan should. This winter, I had a lot of fun with my three-year-old and one-year-old on several hills in Iowa. This toboggan descended the hill faster than any of our other sleds. I'm very happy. One thing I'd change is a better way to attach the pull rope; it always comes untied, but that's not a major issue.
The quality is excellent, and the design is attractive.
It also appears to be narrower and thinner. The finish on the bottom, as mentioned in other reviews, was quite rough. I used Scotch Brite and rubbed on wax, and it's now working fine. It also appears to be much narrower and lighter than my previous one. Although I doubt it will withstand many airborne runs, it works well on my regular runs and is a lot of fun.
The quality is quite good. They could use more screws and avoid using staples, but everything else appears to be in good working order. I haven't waxed it yet because I haven't had any problems with it. I'm hoping this speeds things up.
