Although we aren't sure exactly, it must be closer to 14 lb than 3 lb, as common sense would suggest. There are 5 ounces in each bag.
It is sold in unit pieces. This is not a good travel companion.
As you can see in the picture, this doesn't come with any safety equipment, but there is an adjustable strap that enables you to pull the sled back up the mountain. If you don't want to use it, you can remove the velcro strap.
There is a possibility that some of the metal parts will rust in the future. I have had mine for about three years no rust but all metal parts are either coated or chromed or painted and there is a possibility that layer will wear off and you will get some rust. It is awesome to have a Hammer.

In the end, I got another one, since my other daughter took it. I am finally given a turn now that there are three of us. By the way, all of our other sleds have broken and these are the only ones that keep working. Our parts have never needed replacement, but we have been able to buy.
On the hill where the kids go sliding, my son is the center of attention. I recommend it highly, because it's well designed, strong, and fast. By the way, the kid's father (who weighs almost 275 pounds) enjoyed it as well.
The sled is awesome. The bed is very comfortable to lie on. Today there was a snow sled delivered. There was a pretty small sledding hill near our house where my three children and I really enjoyed sledding. We were impressed by the speed of this sled, but its steering ease was even more impressive. You can control it to a greater extent than some of our other sleds, which makes it safer. I also think it will last a long time. Next time, I'm gonna take it up an even bigger hill.
After a few years of replacing the sleds each year, I was tired of replacing them. The damage they cause to the environment is terrible. We regret that the runners and the webbing of this sled are made of plastic, but it will nevertheless replace many plastic-only The price was well worth it.
This is a great product. Whenever I need supplies for my cabin, I load it up with it. A lot easier to use than I thought it would be.
