The seller described the item as working exactly as it did when I received it. It comes with a very clear instruction guide. It took us about two seasons to teach our now 6 year old how to ski because she was too scared. In our case, that meant placing her between our legs or using poles to hold her, which was tiring for an adult (myself included). There's a lot I like about this product! I love that we can adjust the harness to fit our kids of any size, and the attachment of helmets is the icing on the cake. We did not use the straps on the first day because she was having difficulties standing on the skis. We had her skiing the bunny hill on her own within 5 hours. I found the harness to be great for holding onto our daughter whenever she was about to fall or became unstable. Getting on and off of lifts is also very easy using this system.
