I broke a decent amount of trail over a period of over two hours in the deep mud and wet conditions, and my feet stayed dry and warm. As long as the upper part is loose enough to allow more freedom of movement, I was able to use these on flat groomed surfaces as well. These shoes also feature upper and lower locking eyelets on the laces so they can provide a secure fit for hours, as well as separate adjustments.
My job entails managing a network of cross-country ski trails in Western Colorado at 9000', with a groomed system of around 7 miles and about 300 inches of snow each year. The trails are part of my weekly routine, which includes skiing and working on them. The boot I got is a size 43, and I wear a size 10 shoe. The size allows you to wear a thin sock and a thicker sock on top. So far, after wearing these boots for more than 5 weeks, my feet have remained dry and warm in temperatures ranging from zero to 30 degrees F. Lacing system is good because once tied, shoes stay tight for nine hours and I wear them for up to two days As well as finishing this review after the end of the season, I'll be monitoring how they perform in the spring weather.
The fit is perfect 42 EU boots 5 US shoes). This is a very high-quality product. It is comfortable. Warm, but not too hot. I've worn these boots and wool socks all day. I would say 10 degF is ideal.
The price was well worth it. The results I got were as follows This is a fantastic pair of boots I purchased online. I bought the skis at Goodwill for a reasonable price and these boots at the Goodwill. It was nice to not have blisters and look cool at the same time.
Having skied XC for decades, I know what it feels like. My older dog and I are just trying to get high on our easier days. I was concerned this would be too much for him. This is not the case. The boot fits my foot great and is really nice to wear. A foot bed from an aftermarket supplier can be used.
Initially I was a little concerned about the price, but after using it for five months, I couldn't be happier.
I am in the range of a 9 1/2 to a 10 and You would be a 10 if you were. If I were to go to 44, I would choose 5. I highly recommend these ski boots! This is a very high quality construction that is also very handsome. One thing I don't like about this system is that it is a bit Getting your grip on the forefoot area is difficult due to the way the laces are attached to the boot. I don't think it's a deal breaker, but it definitely could be.
The longest trip I've taken in them was about six days. The handling and comfort are first-class. During the full rain storm in the Bahamas this past weekend, I stayed completely dry wearing these. I bought this for a great price.
