On chilly days, this is perfect. To avoid scratching, they are usually worn over cotton socks. We were confident that it would keep our toddler's feet warm during the cold NYC winters when they were out walking. I bought the x-ray machine. Our toddler wore a size 12 (five years old) and the clothes were too small for him. We're going to buy the same pair in medium in the hopes that she'll grow into them over time and that we'll be able to pass them on because they're so durable.
