Summer 4000 Kastking Kastking Kastking Kastking Kastking Kastking I adore my two children. Use a braided line with a break strength of 15 pounds. Make use of the eight strands. They throw farther and farther than the four-stranded strands. I hope this has been of assistance.
My score is a one. 4 oz. It's what I use off piers and jetties. The tip is a bit whippy and thin. For the money, this is a good rod.
As solid as it gets.

While casting a 3 oz triangle weight, it broke under the second eye from the bottom. It has a 4 ounce capacity. This was my fifth fishing trip with it since I bought two of them seven months ago, and there was no undue tension on the line; it simply broke during a regular cast. It was a fantastic rod, except for the fact that it broke.
It's lovely, if a tad frail, but. . . . The bottom eye ring has a diameter of two inches. If I ever need to replace it, I've noticed how difficult it will be. A quick Google search turned up two for $16 and $30, respectively, for that one eye ring. Regrettably, I will have to return it without having used it.
I haven't lost a fish yet because of the exciting action and fun fight. If I'd found this first, I could have saved $150 (I also have a 15 foot).
I used to have the 10' H model, and I really liked it. I had high hopes for the 9' MH that I purchased. For a Heavy rating, I've always thought the ten was a little too soft. The 9' is more Medium to Medium/Light in weight than the Medium/Heavy for which it was rated. The last two-thirds of the guides are similarly insignificant. Rod was eventually given to a friend who is just getting started. Tsunami Trophy 2 9' MH was installed in its place.
The rod is a great value for the money, the blanks are super tight and will shift on a heavy cast every now and then, and it has great action for a medium heavy. Depending on your reel, it can feel fantastic, but for longer fishing trips, you'll need a lighter reel.
It's a miracle the rod arrived undamaged; UPS had marked it as potentially damaged. The two pieces were rattling around loose in a big 'ol box with no padding or other means of securing them. The rod is light and will suffice as a spare, but it requires a lot more packing.
Two of these rods were included in my luggage. Because of the post I read, I was a little nervous about bringing them, but I did. The rods were packaged in a way that I did not like. That was an area where they could have done a lot better. The rod is excellent in all other respects. It does a fantastic job. This past weekend, I caught a ten-pound catfish.
I ordered two of these for a trip to Destin, Florida, to do some surf fishing. I didn't want to go bankrupt, but they turned out to be excellent. Strong enough to pull four ounce weights in heavy surf while being flexible enough to feel bites.
