The blue tube Solarez should be used if your board is made out of EPS. You can use the yellow or white polyester Solarez if your surfboard is made from urethane (like older surfboards). You can use the BLUE TUBE if you are not sure since this product works with either type. Where did it come from? What happens if we continue to make yellow and white tubes once blue is able to be used with either color? Due to its lighter weight and easy sanding, the white tube (microlite) is ideal. yellow tube is made of good old polyester and sands like a charm. It has been a surfers' favorite for decades.
As I know that even direct sunlight can affect curing times even for uv cure epoxy, I can only say that it is a uv cure epoxy.
It's OK, you can do that. you're planning to repair the tops surface, make sure to roughen it up with a 60 grit sandpaper - we include 60 grit in our tube package. As long as you're only working on the surface, you can use regular solarez for polyester board repairs. However, you cannot use the poly formula if the burns reach the core. *br>The blue epoxy tube can be used to repair BOTH types of surfboards, but honestly, the yellow (poly) formula is easier to The plastic sheet trick can be used with either the blue epoxy tube or the yellow polyester tube. Placing a sheet of clear plastic over the resin will help the resin to dry faster. You can use a sheet if you use less time, but it's not quite as practical. Let it cure in the sun for 3 minutes (it's shorter if you use a sheet), then carefully peel it off. The result will be a smooth glossy finish that requires little if any sanding, and will be bone dry after application

I love this stuff! A SUP rail cracked on the way out of the water, on a stone step. A board manufacturer told me to use SolarEZ, so I did. The crack was filled by using SolarEZ after using a Dremel to remove the broken material and smooth out the crack to allow it to adhere better. The smooth side of some packing tape was used to create a smooth surface once the filling was relatively even and relatively even. It took only 5 minutes to cure the resin when I placed the board in the sun. After removing the packing tape, the surface was revealed to be smooth and hard. This is awesome! I will never need to use it again, but if I do, I am confident that it will be an excellent tool!.
I was able to make a pretty good mess of my board and make some not completely unsightly repairs to it!
For other beginners You should definitely have a few pairs of disposable gloves on hand. It is difficult to clean drippings caused by throwaway mail. Keep some of that mail to lay beneath the table for catching any drippings. In the end, it took me some time to get it off my fingers. I rubbed my shins with soap mixed with baking soda for some time, otherwise they were quite dry.
No matter how low the UV is, this product works just as claimed. Doe's come with an undeniably tacky finish (unlike advertised), but the premise is that you're going to sand it off later. Can the mixture be made less bubbley by reducing the bubbles? br />br />(I used this to fill in a channel for a custom non-native typeface I just finished the surfboard project. ) *Update The parts are holding up in a demanding custom project that involves hard knocks, oil and other contaminates, as well as heat The result thus far has been impressive.
When you need to repair this, it is imperative that you have access to sunlight. It seems to me that sunlight is not a requirement, but merely an accelerator. You should make sure that when you are ready to use the spray, your surface is clean and you know the exact location When you apply this stuff under good sunlight, get ready for it to harden really fast. It will harden in less than a minute when it starts setting up, and become rock solid in two minutes. The SUP I cracked by accidentally nose diving into shallow water has held together quite well after I popped it back together.
In the Florida sun, it dried completely hard in 5 minutes. Even with how easily it was repaired, it looks really good. Watch a few YouTube videos to figure out how to do it yourself and you'll be saving some money for Considering it was a brand new board when I dinged it, I'm extremely satisfied with how it turned out.
This is who I am This product is extremely useful. I have three kids that I use paddleboarding with all the time, and they abuse boards like you wouldn't believe despite my warnings. Solarez enables me to perform epoxy board repairs so quickly that it has been a real In the past, this stuff has allowed me to repair FCS boxes and clean the noses. Then one of them wants to learn the art of longboarding, so now I will need to repair their boards more often. I would like to thank you for providing this product. It has saved me time and money.
I experienced the same issue described in several reviews of this product. perhaps it was in part because it was still too cold out so I waited until it was a warm sunny day and today it was 72 and sunny so I thought I would give it another go. Despite my best efforts, I did not have any success, part of the application hardened and part stayed gooey no matter what angle I angled it into. Since it is just a family paddle board, looks are not as important as the function of the board. As soon as I can, I will scrape what I can off and try.
The board began to set after I moved it to direct sun light. Don't forget to be careful and make sure that the repair is free of tiny air bubbles. This is a small dent repair kit I purchased to patch up a small dent on the rail of my board. Once I am able to go outside again, I will update on how the repair has held up. I wonder why it doesn't get 5 stars, as I wish a small piece of shear plastic came with the kit, and I want to give 5 stars to products which stand out.
