I appreciate your kind words It's a great question, and we appreciate it. A 1/2" thick foam core is used for both the 41" and 48" sizes of Slapfish Skimboards. Each board is approximately 5/8 inches thick when finished.
I got this board as a gift from my parents when I was 15 years old. I was surprised to see how quick the board arrived and how well it performs. I prefer this board over Apex Boards because it is of very high quality. My weight is 135 pounds and I am 6'0" with great float on this board (I got it later so I didn't have to travel). In spite of the fact that I have not performed many tricks on the board, the trick most often originates from the way in which my foot is placed or the speed at which I run. Although this is a very capable board, if this is your first fiberglass/carbon board, I would definitely recommend this board. Also it does not appear in the pictures, but there is some cool “paint splatter on the bottom of the board for a nice display. My highly recommended board provides you with amazing information. I hope I was able to assist you in some way.
When you place the tail of the board on the ground in front of you, the tip of the board should be level with the top half of your rib cage (give or take a couple inches). By following this guideline, you can make sure your stance is a good fit for the board and will keep you balanced. Thanks for your question! I think you'd be better off going with the longer board if you're between sizes.

The grandson I bought this for loved it. He's in the middle of his third one, and it's his most expensive one yet. This product is better in terms of performance and lighter in weight than the other models he used previously. He has been spending nearly all of his spare time at the beach since he arrived, as it is only a few minutes from our home. Despite the fact that I thought he was very good with his last board, there is no doubt that his skill level has advanced more rapidly since switching to a better quality board. I am pleased with the way the board is holding up so far considering the amount of use/or abuse that a 17 year old puts it through. The bag is in relatively good condition, aside from a couple of scratches.
I like it even though I weigh 105 pounds. You really get a great board with this one!.
There is a detail of a fish even on the stomp pad, which makes the board an artistic masterpiece. I love how there are some unique brand skim labels on this board. I would definitely buy it.
My son loves this board, he has ridden it plenty of time in the last few days. Although the board is very buoyant, it floats even in very The fishtails, 180s, and 360s are very enjoyable and you can skim the sand. The board has a decent amount of control, but my son still needs to get the wave riding down, but other than that I think it's a great product. There are a few issues with the traction and board. A small portion of the grip on the deck is crooked and they chopped too much fiberglass off of the side foam can be seen, but this does not affect the performance of the board. The board is great overall. I would buy it.
It's a no-brainer Its lack of weight makes retrieving it much easier than with wooden boards coated with epoxy. Customer service from Slapfish was out of this world and resolved the problem quickly when there was a slight hiccup with the shipper.
It is easy for him to hold on to. So far, he is enjoying using it. Still, he has not had a chance to use it much.
It's lightweight and makes it easy for him to hike - he was using a wood one before and loves to use this one now In his book, he received 5 out of 5 stars!.
I bought this gift for my younger son for Christmas, so he has not yet seen it. He meant that my eldest son, who saw it, must have thought it was really sweet. This will be the best thing for my younger son, so that's what I'm taking. Colors green and blue are his favorites. As far as transition grips go, I have no idea. Wearing them was an option for me. The position of his feet looks like it is where he puts them. Our next step will be to see what happens.
