***Revise for a better understanding: br>HIGHPI customer service contacted me and informed me that their board is covered by a warranty and that they stand behind their product's quality. They're going to replace the board I originally received, which is really nice of them, and hopefully the next board will be much better quality than the first; I'll update this review once I get the replacement board and have a chance to try it out. **
br>I am not impressed with this paddle board; my friends have all purchased inflatable paddle boards this season, and after trying a slew of them from a variety of well-known brands (some expensive, some less so, like this one), they all seemed to me to be pretty much the same. So I chose this board to purchase for myself because the colors appealed to me. br>br>However, aside from the colors, I was dissatisfied with everything else. To begin with, it was delivered with a scratch in the padding. In addition, EVERY D- Excess glue was used to cover the rings on the sides (really?). It took a lot of q-ing to get it right), and it took a lot of q-ing to get it right. hints and goo I've gone to see if I can clean it up so the D- Rings might be able to move in the expected manner. But, even so, I was ecstatic about my new board, and I decided not to sweat the minor details because I simply wanted to enjoy it! So I went on my first adventure with it and. . . . Big oof! (br>br>In comparison to competitors in the same price range (specifically, dama brand boards), it was extremely flimsy, difficult to maneuver, and didn't even hold its shape! It would literally bend over like a freaking noodle when even the smallest waves came through, rather than remaining stiff and sturdy like the paddle board it should be. And, yes, I did inflate it to the recommended 15 PSI, so there's no other explanation for this than a shoddy and cheap build. Despite the fact that we were on relatively calm water with only a few small waves, I couldn't even stand!! I had to sit or kneel the entire time, despite the fact that I had done some paddle boarding before. br>br>I've taken competitor boards out with myself, my boyfriend, and my dog on them and had no problems; however, when I tried it on this board, my boyfriend (on the back) was practically sitting in the water! Despite the fact that we were well under the 350-pound weight limit. It was still very unsteady even after I gave up on that idea and went by myself. My hopes of doing yoga on it are now shattered. . . . br>br>So, in conclusion. . . . Is it able to float? Will it allow me to paddle around with my friends on super calm waters? Over extremely short distances, yes. However, it isn't very good. Overall, it's a very low-cost, low-quality item that isn't particularly durable. I'll put up with it for the time being, but next year I'm going to invest in something more worthwhile. If I had the chance to buy this board again, I would not spend $300 on it. For the same price or a little more, there are MUCH better boards available, and next time I'll buy from a brand that I've tried first.
On the water, it is sturdy and stable. It's not too heavy. The board is of exceptional quality in every way. Inflating it was a breeze. It took me about 5 minutes to complete this task. Even after getting it past the minimum 5-percentage point, the pump's gauge would not work. For it to begin registering, it must weigh at least 7 pounds. I just inflated until the board was hard, and I'm going to contact the company to see if they'll send a new pump or replace it because the gauge was broken. Before I bought anything, I read a lot of reviews, and nearly every board (from various companies) that came with a pump had a couple of complaints about the pump gauge not working. They're just cheaply made, regardless of the brand, and it seemed completely out of the blue. I'll keep you updated on the company's plans to replace or exchange the pump. However, the board as a whole is excellent, and you shouldn't base your decision on the pump gauge not working, as this appears to be a common problem with pumps. It still inflated my paddle board, allowing me to cruise the water!.
I'm 6'4" and 280 pounds, and this one made me feel safe and comfortable. I wished the paddle was a little longer, but it wasn't a major issue. Any newish paddleboarder looking for something capable, convenient, and affordable should consider this.
I was a little concerned because of the glue marks, so I went to Dicks to compare. I'm not as worried as I used to be. It has a strong odor, but we'll let it air out outside for a while, and it looks just as cool in person. Inflating it was a breeze. It's the perfect size for both my husband and my 7-year-old to wear. We can't wait to put it to the test. (I'll update when it's warm enough to go outside)br>** update My concerns were promptly addressed by customer service. They offer a warranty on their product and are extremely responsive.
It's simple to inflate this board, especially if you go single stage for the last three minutes. 4 psi. It's very sturdy due to its design and size. In addition to myself, I was able to transport my children and dog with ease. The whole thing is light enough to carry along a trail to the water's edge. Carrying a fully inflated board is more difficult, but this is due to its size rather than its weight. br>br>Quality control was an issue for me. The EVA pad was bubbling up on the first board I received. The fin mounting plate on the replacement board was installed backwards, and the pin that secures the fin had a strange bubble in the track. After the third time it was inflated, this SUP began to leak air from the seam around the valve. I liked the way this board handled and looked, but I'm on the lookout for a more affordable SUP with more attention to detail.
