Even though I had to return it, I still give this product 5 stars. Moreover, it looks awesome, and the building quality is outstanding. My problem stemmed from the size of the cockpit. I own I ordered a large deck size, so it falls within the range for that size. Despite this, the cockpit of the Katana is 1" wider and 1" longer than the boats on which this skirt is most likely to be applied (Phantom, Mamba, Green Boat, etc. ). In a whitewater environment, a Katana is likely not the boat that is best suited for extreme conditions, but it would be okay for a milder whitewater setting. The fact that this is my first kayak and this is my first skirt should be taken into consideration, as well as my runner-centric background, so I do not have the strongest arms, but I do One time, I sat on the boat and pushed while another person pulled. Despite bending from the back and trying to stretch incrementally as I went, I was not able to. It might be possible to mount this thing on a Katana if you had pneumatic presses instead of arms. It's a real honor to be able to recognize If I was stopped at a place where it was almost there, then an inch less width and an inch less length would have been enough to get through. Go ahead and get the Phantom if you have one. We're going to have a blast. I'm impressed at how strong that rubber rand is.
It seals really well on my Nomad and I bought the large deck medium tunnel. It still is a little hard to get on due to the rubber rand, but it overtakes the shock cord for me. The tunnel is also leak-proof.
I am very pleased with the quality of the spray skirt! I sent back my first skirt because the fit was too tight. Surfing is one of my favorite things to do. I have a sea lion kayak. We tried the medium size recommended by the seller and it was impossible to mount the seat on. The cockpit size was increased to a large one, and everything is fine now.
The medium size works perfectly on my Dagger Phantom, and I have nothing to worry about when it rains. There is no doubt in my mind that it will remain firmly attached to Because of the Kevlar reinforcement, it's really durable for high wear areas and after 8 months of rugged use it barely shows any signs of wear at all. When I'm not wearing a dry shirt on hot days, the conical seal at the top of the body tube keeps the water out. Spray skirts like this are solid and dependable, and they look great as well.
