The Skeg Box is open so that the blade can be deployed and retracted easily while on the water. If you drag your kayak to or from the water, sand and debris will usually collect here. Anything that has accumulated in this area can also be easily rinsed out.
I have the number eleven. 5' model. There isn't a rudder on this ship. A total of 14 were on the Express. Models are available in five and fifteen feet. The retractable skeg is present on all three, but no rudder is visible. They're "rudder capable," whatever that means, according to the website.
The seat does not rise; instead, it rests flat on the ground. It is a little thicker than usual. The back of the seat is the only thing that can be adjusted. You have the option of leaning back slightly or standing straight. I'm not sure why it's called "adjustable." It's not much different than my cheaper viper, with a little more padding and a slightly higher back.
I don't know about Perception, but bungees can be easily changed if the color bothers you. Actually, you can customize your kayak by using different colored cords for the bungee or perimeter lines.

Get an internal float bag for the bow and practice capsize recovery in shallow water, at the very least for beginners. br>br>So far, this thing has been amazing. I wasn't sure how useful the retractable skeg would be until I tried it out on open water on a windy day.
Everything was presented in a very professional manner. br>As for the kayak itself, there are a few advantages. br>Pros - Very comfortable seat, thigh braces help you feel more connected to the boat, it tracks well, and it's an attractive boat. br>Cons - The Tupperware-style storage seal, which is made of rubber, is difficult to replace.
CEVA schedules or cancels deliveries without letting Amazon know! The first delivery scheduled for February 6, 2021 failed, so I rescheduled for February 22, 2021 after multiple calls to Amazon and CEVA. It's a long way from being a painless purchase! At the end of the day, the kayak was damaged! There are indications of non-original factory packaging in the photo taken on the received kayak. Most likely, it was returned, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was damaged and resold to me for the same reason. It was a terrible experience! I took a picture of the kayak that was damaged, as well as the barcode serial number, and asked for a replacement. I'm hoping for a brand new kayak rather than a return.
It was very well packed. Delivered in an appropriate manner. To protect the vessel, it is well packed. All components were in good working order, and a Bill of Sale document was included, complete with the manufacturer's hull ID number and fabrication date. There were no scratches or damage when it arrived. Other reviews stated that the boat did not come with an instruction booklet. Written instructions are unnecessary for anyone who has a basic understanding of kayaking. In any case - The simple solution is to go online and download all of the literature you'll ever need or want. It's an excellent kayak in my opinion - delivered in an appropriate manner.
Love it! Despite the fact that I am only 5 feet tall, this is the ideal size for me!.
We received two of these kayaks last week and have already used them on flat water twice. When paddling in crosswinds, the skeg comes in handy. There are a lot of nice features, such as the ability to change the seat angle while in the water. We stand out from other yaks on the water thanks to our stylish coloring, which looks exactly like the pictures you see here. br>We're hoping to get a lot of use out of these and have a lot of fun with them.
Shipping was poorly packaged. Kayak is a nice kayak, but it wasn't shipped well. The bottom is pushed in, and I have to keep pushing it down by standing inside it. There was also no booklet included with the kayak. I looked up how to use skeg on the internet.
This kayak was purchased to help me maintain my cardio fitness while my knee was being repaired. It's a good size and weight for a boat, and it's very stable on the water. It is unquestionably faster and has better tracking than cheaper rented kayaks, but I have limited kayaking experience. br>br>The kayak arrived on time, unpackaged, and scratched up.
