It would be useless to have a seat back on this kayak if the back deck was swim up. I have never seen my kids complain about their seats without backs. Compared to kayaks that do have them, they prefer this. Boat seat cushions can be purchased at Walmart, were they can be used on the seat to pad it. These boat seat cushions will float if the child (by some I have done the boat flip just once, and I spent a lot of time in some rapids laughing at myself at the time
The paddle I ordered came in pink and is made up of two pieces that come apart in the middle by pushing a button.

Having purchased one of these kayaks twice now, I will continue to purchase them. Kids should be able to use the first one. Leakage is found on the second one. I bought my second boat last year with no serial number, as some moron decided to put the serial number on the boat using rivets (see picture), which allows water to leak into the boat (the first boat had no serial number). The rivets will have to be removed, the label will have to be removed, the water inside the boat will need to drain out, and then there needs to be something permanently attached over the rivet holes to keep the water out. I could not send it back because it was too much trouble. Ratings changed from
to *! We found out that the boat has an easy way to get the water out of the boat with its bailing port. However, the leak is slow, and it can be handled by draining the water through the bailing port. The rating is now 4 stars I gave the boat a 5-star rating because my grandchildren love it, but I deducted one star for a stupid serial number leak.

A kayak like this can carry 60 lbs when towed behind a personal kayak. We do a lot of camping and fishing The following items are required (including 20 gallons of water and heavy equipment). As a birthday present for my son, I bought this The birthday boy is old for his age. The big learning curve frightened me, and I worried about him falling out and/or not being able to turn the wheel.
