Lifetime Lotus Sit-On-Top Kayak with Paddle

When I first considered buying this kayak, I had a little hesitancy. However, after reading a majority of the reviews, I made the purchase. Kayaks like this one are wonderful for what they are. Despite its 8 feet length it fits into the back of my Ford Escape when the front passenger seat is fully reclined. I can easily carry it under one arm since it weighs only 38 pounds. Adjustable and comfortable, the backrest allows you to adjust it to your exact needs. Although it will not tack straight, simply adjust the depth of your paddling so that you minimize its roll as it will not tack straight. I do use a cushion for the seat as the hard plastic becomes uncomfortable after a few hours. Lake Nighthorse here in Durango, CO is a place I have explored extensively, and I can go in and out of small spaces with ease. Since this is a man-made lake, there are a lot of dead trees jutting out of the water along the shoreline, so I get to weave in and out of them while paddling in the tiny My bigger one would never have allowed me to do it. If you seek a kayak to paddle on calm water or water with a little chop, this one won't win any races, but you'll love it for leisurely paddling. One day, the wind blew up over the lake and created some whitecaps, but that was the only time I got caught out on the lake. During my paddle, my kayak rocked quite a bit, but it was never dangerous to tip over, and I was able to make it back to the boat launch after reaching the shoreline. For $165 at WalMart, I found a red one that looked exactly like it at the same price. Only the names on the kayaks were different. Lastly, the paddle on the cheaper kayak was not a good paddle. This is the Lotus kayak and the red kayak in Walmart was a Daylite. As it is shorter and it actually has a channel in it that catches the water, the handle doesn't have any little cups to catch the water so you get wet It would be wise to purchase two of these kayaks (there is a package deal for two) so that you have someone with you whenever you go paddling. As a result of my purchase, I am delighted with this little kayak and am enjoying it greatly.

We all took it for a spin (see photo) - ages 16, 18, and 25. Both my wife and I enjoyed them so much that we ordered a second one. The Buffalo River is a 10 mile kayak trip we went on a couple of weeks ago with a group of teenage girls. After kicking off our kayaks one of the girls switched over to a sit-on-top at the tip of a tree to see what it was like After they had all left, she became very upset with her new craft and made a demand that everyone get back to ours. Two sit on top Kayaks and life jackets are now in my possession. The first trip out was awesome, and we plan to kayak on the Delaware River soon. It was a very different story on the second trip (to put it mildly). Using the current this time, we explored a new area adjacent to some rocks 200 yards from where we were. We didn't realize the adventure we were about to embark on until after the fact. These two kayaks were the only ones that we had to use to go through Foul Rift Rapids. Her and I both felt very scared, almost causing her to pee It wasn't really a waterfall, but she jumped over what she would call a baby waterfall, jumping in as I screamed for her to paddle. As well as the Kayak, I also got stuck on a giant rock sticking out of the water, but I managed to kick off of it. I got off at the next boat launch after experiencing another set of rapids that weren't as severe as the first. Although the story has a lot more to it, you can get the idea. Our feet did not fall off and they got the water out of the way seamlessly. Each kayak got a bunch of light scratches, along with a few deeper scratches, but DANG DO they stay put. Knowing that I made a fool of myself, I retract my statement. There was no harm done and we learned a bunch of valuable lessons that day. The only CON I have is that I had to adjust the back support strap, and there should be some sort of handle on the side too like above a car door for crazy situations like we faced. I guess I just joking about the second con. It is worth noting that I'm a very tall man who weighs 240 lbs and is 6'5" tall. A kayak can be very useful and easy to use. They are durable and robust. Paddling around our lake has been a lot of fun! The dog that swims with us can climb on the front section of the kayak with me in the seat area, and we can both climb on the kayak. The front part of the boat allows him to paddle around with me while I'm sitting. There is no question that the dog is not small. He weighs 80 pounds. This kayak has a great deal of stability on A paddle is included with them, which is I had a great time! The prices are also reasonable!.
