Questions & Answers

What is the drop stitch floor like in this version?

There is no air under the floor. With the new 12 ft model, you have the option of drop stitch flooring.

Does this unit have a mount for a motor?

Only the front of the rig has a mounting rack, and I'd say that's a little limited in what you can mount

It comes with a pump, right?

It does not come with a pump. There is not much cost associated with the pump. It takes maybe 20 pumps to inflate each of the three air containers, and 10 pumps to inflate the other two I can easily hold 200 lbs on it with an 80 lb dog.

Having fun with it is easy
5/5

My new Kayak made its maiden voyage yesterday and I would like to thank you for your excellent service. This is an extremely stable and comfortable device. It would be nice to be able to get on the water when I am no older than sixty. I found this inflatable kayak to be easy to assemble according to my own instructions, and I could fit it Even I was entertained by this. I am not great at mechanical things, but this made perfect sense. An electric pump I bought for my car plugs into the electrical outlet. As an alternative, I bought a hand pump from the advanced elements store, which performed well without an Due to the fittings on the kayak, the electric pumps cannot easily inflate the raft, so I recommend the hand pump from Advanced Elements, which is well suited to the kayak's fittings and includes.

I had a great time! of all, I would like to say that this kayak is a blast to use
5/5

You should take it out the first time you get it and play with it on both lakes and rivers in Texas.

Take out the kayak the first time you get it and see how it feels. You can establish it on the ground, take it down, evacuate it, inflate it, deflate it, etc. Therefore, you won't appear like a total noob when you are out and about to take it out for its maiden To add to that, I wouldn't suggest cracking a bottle of champagne against the bow to make it crack. I just thought I'd mention it. Anyway, after getting familiar with the kayak, you can pack it up and have it fully set up in 5 minutes or less, and take it down in even less time. It probably won't be more than three. There is only one complaint I have about the kayak, and that is the metal bar (accessory bar) for attaching things. As a first step, let me tell anyone who has wondered the same and researched the same without finding any answers it cannot go backward. In other words, the metal bar is only able to go The bow is to the left. The situation will not turn out like that. Let me tell you that I like the design, but the manufacturing bungled the attaching process for the accessory bar and my one would not attach either in the back or in front of the kayak. On this boat, the hard rubber grommets that hold the metal accessory bar are positioned in the incorrect location when secured to the boat's sides. These grommets are connected to the boats side but fail to attach to the metal accessory bar. In my opinion, the only solutions would be to either A) take the metal bar to a machine shop and have them bend the tube to enable proper angle adjustment or B) request a replacement kayak or C) fabricate something similar myself out of metal tube or PVC purchased I opted for option D over the metal accessory bar, and I even don't use it. If you are a hard-core fisherman and you wanted GPS and sonar attached to it, then it might be a minor inconvenience, but beyond that I don't really see any drawbacks. Just not using it does not seem to cause any problems to me. Without it, it only takes one step to set up the kayak, and it weighs one pound less than with it. These hardened rubber grommets meant to hold metal accessory bars have a hole of one inch in diameter, so anything of that size will fit in them nicely without too much trouble. In the future I might see what I can find at the local hardware store, but now I don't have any plans. I really don't see anything wrong with it. Also, the grommets (as all the other parts of the kayak) are very firmly attached to it, so you can easily attach an anker, a moaring line, or really anything else you want to it, without any problem or worry whatsoever. Next, I'd like to talk about my second A toughness. This is a holy moly. Pool toys are what you think of if you're thinking of them. I don't think you could be more wrong. Definitely one of the most rugged and durable things you will ever own! There you have it, I have taken this thing on river's, lakes, and class three rapids. My only remaining task is to take it to the Gulf of Mexico in Galveston and engage in some saltwater activities. Unlike an old war veteran, this yak can handle rapids without a problem. Rapids, on the other hand, are not like this boat, so the sudden "action" they bring just doesn't exist. As a result, you can count on it being rated for an adventure with class 3 rapids. It is the two outer air chambers that provide unsurpassed stability to the boat, helping to keep it upright whatever the conditions are. In order to test the boat's ability to handle rapids of the Dallas Wave white water park, I took it to the park for a test run. This is an easy process. It's almost as if this boat can float over Class 1, 2, and 3 rapids effortlessly. I've only ever been whitewater rafting twice (once in Chile in the Andes Mountains and once in Colorado in the Rocky Mountains). Since the ride is very stable and you are on one large air cushion without having to do any paddling, unless the rapids are class 3 or higher, you won't even feel any bumps or have to do any paddling at all. Having said that, I would like to add that. . On my second trip down the class 3 rapids section of the whitewater park, I did manage to flip the kayak once. I am inexperienced, but mostly because I am new. As a first priority, the 24 scupper holes are a godsend for surfers or white water enthusiasts. Into the water goes the water. There is an outage of water. My heart is in love with them. Open them though, as you have to remember to do it. I messed up. Unfortunately, I made a mistake. The first thing I did when I went through class 3 was forgetting to open them. There was water inside the boat and it did not drain. In fact, I pinned myself against a rocky embankment with a pressure of 425cfs as I was losing my weight. I was flipped over in a matter of seconds. Oh my gosh, that was Next thing I know, I'm floating down Trinity River holding my paddle in one hand and an upside-down kayak It was a lot of fun getting soaked but I loved every minute! With hindsight, I should have had the scupper holes open the whole time and went straight down the class 3 chute instead of going down the little catty wompus. After getting out of the kayak, I grabbed the paddle, slung it over my shoulder and headed back up stream That time I was not gonna have it my way. A second attempt has been made. The drainage holes have also been left I had water coming in, water going out, and went straight down the chute without hitting the rocky embankment with a rapid push from my paddle! Woohoo! This is what I made. The process is simple and easy! Boats like this are tough! As an athlete, I've hit rocks, limestone cliffs, run over gravel, gone up against trees, and splashed through water. There isn't a scratch on my body! In the bow or stern, there's not a scratch on the aluminum bars! There were some marks on it, but they came out with rubbing on a damp The boat I'm looking at is truly amazing. This heavy duty boat would definitely require a lot of serious force to deface. A useful feature is the bow and stern landing plates, which allow you to paddle into the shore at full speed while taking all the friction away from rocks and sand. The reinforced areas on top of the lateral air chambers have a durable coating that ensures more My boat would have been better covered if they included more of it. I imagine that if it were heavier it would weigh more, and at 40 pounds I believe it is just the right weight. Boats with this type of durability, versatility and stability are very popular. The comfortability of this yak is also top-notch. I can easily see it lasting me my entire lifetime. The bench is open so you can sit any way you feel like. On top of one of one's sides, feet forward, with the sides over the the sides, indian style. It is so comfy that you can even lay in it and just "BAM!"! The waterbed! )I'm a 5'9" and 145lb 29 year old guy and it's the right size. I want to take my kayak camping one day, and I'll just use it as an air mattress. The stars are shining brightly and I am sleeping Yesterday, I had a chance to try out this kayak with two people. The device says it can hold up to 300 pounds, but a combination of the girl and me didn't even reach 275 pounds. If anyone is wondering if one person sits towards the stern and the other towards the bow and you don't inflate the floor chamber as much and you both face each other, it's probably not recommended since it says "Only 1 person" but just in case. So long as you do not exceed the 300 lb weight limit, it can easily support two people. In fact, it tracks better when the weight is added. Obviously, you won't get any benefit from this if you're extremely fat. But, if you're a small person or skinny, it shouldn't be a problem and you can still have a great fishing day Despite the fact that it could fit two people comfortably, it was still attractive to us. If you do not clean and dry this kayak well after each use, it may develop mildew build up and that might lead to the kayak stinking. But I found that if you just blow it up and set it up when you get home, it air dries quite Afterward, wipe it down and rub it with a cloth to get rid of any excess water. Also, I bought a Big Wind Paddle Cruiser sail for the kayak and in North Texas winds, I'm able to paddle at 10 knots (12mph) or even higher. This is an estimate (I am It was a great gadget when I used it to haul stuff out of Lake Lewisville! My kayak was seen by people on canoes and kayaks. It was time to take off! I popped up the sail. It took about a minute to get out of their sight. All you need to do is push the paddle with your fingers and you're ready You can make long trips on the water a breeze with the sail! The type of fastening points on the kayak, such as D rings, bungies, and attachment points, is awesome. It's easy to attach gear and gear to the pouches each of which are either strong or they're able to hold it tightly so you won't have to worry about it ripping. This kayak, all in all, gets a 4. 4 out of 5. Despite the minor mistake with the accessory bar, we give it 5 stars out of 5. With such versatility, I give it 5 stars from the bottom of my heart. All of my kayaking gear, my mountain bike, and camping equipment fit snugly in my Ford Ranger. Unbeatable comfort is the hallmark of any good hotel. There's like an air mattress on top of a water bed! I am surprised by how tough I am! The results were much stronger than expected. The item is no longer at risk of getting holes or being damaged. As the chambers of air are filled with air, they float regardless of the conditions. The floats will not sink if it is swum, upside down, or any other position.

It took too long for it to arrive, though I did appreciate While I was disappointed that it took so long to arrive, I was delighted with the kayak once I got it

The inflatables are easy to inflate and deflate, and the craftsmanship is excellent. They seem to be very durable, as well. The long process of drying it before storing it is something of a hassle, as I read other reviews. It is difficult to absorb all the water through the numerous drain plugs on the bottom, because they are cupped and the water collects in and around them. Rather than storing it in a shop, I opened it up at home and let it Although I expected it to be different from my Wilderness Tsunami kayak in terms of tracking and ease of paddling, I am now adjusting to it, since it offers the advantage of being much easier to transport. You can expect a 1 1/2 lb bag. Kayak anchor is a must if you plan to fish with this kayak, since the inflatables move no matter how gently the wind blows.

The design is nice, but there are some minor changes that could improve it

I would like to recommend my last boat (Sevylor Colorado) to other boaters. . This boat could be the one you've always wanted if a few simple changes were made. In the years that I owned my Colorado I wore it out and always thought it was perfect except for a couple small things (took for ever to dry and had cheap pinch valves where Boston valves should have been). It takes forever for the AE straight edge too, and it could have been easily rectified, but they simply left too many things unsealed - the finish is also very thin and does not dry very fast. It has too many hiding places (under the main floor chamber, under the bow and the Due to the lack of nylon material to catch the water, I was under the impression that it would dry in seconds, but boy was I wrong! I keep seeing water disappear and then reappearing like magic days after. A very stable track and excellent tracking are offered by this product Located in the middle of the chair is a comfortable lumbar seat. A spring valve is a great invention (not sure why the floor has Boston, but beats a pinch valve every time). There would be a higher rating if the drying problem were not so troublesome. *UPDATE This boat still rates an "OK" in my book after one year. I have replaced three air chambers under warranty so far, with a failure at the base of the seams. (Even though I avoid over-tightening the seams. The inflation rate). It took AE a short time to resolve warranty claims. Considering the possibility of continued economic growth, I do not see this lasting for many years to come. In addition, due to the water hiding in the floor, we have yet to figure out how to get this boat to dry in a reasonable amount of time. In the future, I will need to buy bladders for this model, so it is hoped that AE will not discontinue it. Even if I did want to make overnight trips, I would not consider it.

A lake is very safe, it is almost impossible to fall into the water
5/5

It was a good choice to get two kayaks. I owned one and my wife owned the other. Since we live in a condominium, that was a good choice. Reliable product. Numerous valves on both sides. To test the product, I went to the beach and opened them all up. All the water coming from a wave immediately goes out as soon as a lot of water is poured in. I never thought it would be as effective as it has been. As well, this kayak is pretty big. There is a lot of stability here. The reason you deserve it almost when you go overboard is because both sides use Zodiac style tubes with a large stable base. the time it takes to inflate the 5 chambers is shorter than anticipated. If you've never done it before, expect it to take up to 10 minutes to complete. Depending on the size, inflatable kayak prices range from $30 to almost $ 2000. The price is around $750 and the model is well worth.
