No, even when the bag is stretched, the holes in the mesh are only about 1/8th of an inch wide, ensuring that even the tiniest shells are safe.
It should be able to hold small stones and rocks. I'm not sure what kind of lead weights you mean. I've been using these to hold a dozen golf balls that I'll use to carry to the practice green chip and putt instead of using a ball tube. This isn't as tough as the mesh bags I used to get from KMart a few years ago for carrying Little League equipment and balls. I'm wishing I'd saved them.

I needed something that had small enough holes to keep the shark teeth from falling out but also closed. Many of the shell bags were unable to be closed. If you're looking for something small and portable to use while in the water, this is the bag for you. It would also be suitable for scuba diving. The price is reasonable. It's perfect for what it's supposed to be used for.
This is attached to my Y harness dog leash, which I use for. you know. Who wants to lug a poop bag around with them? I don't need it very often, but it's nice to have it on hand when I do. I've had it for quite some time and haven't had any issues with it.

Use with the provided clip to hang a Bluetooth speaker at the beach. To keep the speaker out of the sand, hang it from an umbrella.
