Let's go with 9 and assume standard marketing tactics. If you plan on using this for flights and dives in the future, you'll want to add 9lbs to that weight. The roller would be referred to as a "less than 9lb roller" if it weighed less than nine pounds.

There was an orange trim on the black jacket. I liked it, but after scuba gear corrosion for 5+ years, the collapsable handle finally rusted up and became stuck in the stored position, so I upgraded to this model. This bag is wider and thinner than the previous design, but it has about the same capacity as the previous design. While I recognize that it is still new, I am very pleased with the quality of the wheels and they Because the axel and bearing assembly of the current model should be relatively unchanged, I do not expect this one to rust at the wheels either, since I assume the previous model never rusted. This spacious main compartment will comfortably fit a 7mm dive suit, a medium sized BC, booties, mask, snorkel, regulator, dive light, chem light, as well as a couple game bags and medium fins. You are right in thinking that the side pockets would not fit a pair of fins, but they do fit in the main compartment of the bag just fine. The material is not as thick, but it appears to be just as durable and sturdy as the old bag. This bag would have been more useful had it had the same handles that were stitched onto the front like the older model, which are much easier to load heavy dive bags. As of now, I've been using the black strap across the front of the bag as a handle.
We'll see in time whether or not the thing starts to rust, but as the handle and slider assembly appear to be made from a different material, perhaps it will hold up to salty water better in the long term. I will update this review if I have problems with the handle or wheel assemblies or if saltwater gets in them. The Akona bags are a hit with me and this comes in the same style as the one I had before. In this case, I deducted one star since the material is thinner and not at the same level of thickness or toughness as what I had previously. Hopefully, this is due to the use of a better, stronger material that is just as durable and strong as mine. A one star deduction also results from the new model lacking the handy front carrying strap similar to the old model as well as a larger separate compartment like the previous one. This allowed the user to store more gear different I was able to store my dive lights, chem lights, and other items separately from my regulator due to the addition of two additional compartments with mesh dividers. The main compartment was also divided.
This case stands up when fully loaded and can fit two sets of dive gear if you don't have so many heavier wet suits & BCs. The bag looks like it will hold two fin sets, two travel BCs, and our wetsuits but not the light ones they use. It doesn't tip to one side when full, which is important in an airport line for security or tickets when there are a lot of people. traveled with it yet, but we will be going on a diving trip in July to Cayman. We should be able to tell you how it works once we get there.
All of our gear fits easily into our vehicle with plenty of room left over. In the past, my gear has always fit better after I grew up. I am 6'2'' and wear XL. The equipment includes fins, mask, snorkel, gloves, boots, a 3m full wetsuit, a BCD, fins, and miscellaneous accessories. Among other things, I allow my torch, reel, and so on. The only thing I do not allow is my registration. A set and computer are required for security reasons. We like the way it rolls easily and how well it's built.
Despite being lightweight and durable, the bag was not bulky. Making the trip more convenient made a great deal of difference. We observed the wheels to be solid and the zippers to operate without breaking or separating.
Despite its durability, I still use it as my main dive bag and carry all of my equipment in it when I dive. This chair has wheels that are convenient and lightweight and is durable for a long period of time. I am very satisfied with this product and I would buy it My investment is saved.
The bag is really nice. It is large and roomy and can easily be carried alongside a suitcase. An easy-to-store pocket on the side of the fins accommodates them.
The bag contains a lot of room, is easy to roll, easy to maintain, and only holds a zipper that gets tangled in the fabric. The design is poor and my only alternative is to cut the material to release it from the zipper, which is pretty wasteful.
Traveled to Saba and back with my full gear package last week, with no problems going through airports or even flying on small planes.
