Selected User Reviews For Oceanic Geo 2.0 Air/Nitrox Computer Watch

The product support from Oceanic Outdoors and Huish Outdoors is very poor
3/5

We are providing this rating to illustrate how Oceanic and Huish Outdoors customers are treated, not to convey how the Geo 2 is operated or to provide feedback on the retailer's customer service. The dive computer has been set to 0. In the case of the Geo 2, the retailer shipped it. As advertised, the dive computer failed to arrive and I had to wait for it to arrive. After I had dived 30 times, I have not encountered any basic operating problems with the dive computer. The features it claims to have are yet to be explored or exploited by me. This is a problem I have with the product support from Oceanic (purchased by Huish Outdoors in 2017). Oceanic sales and technical support provided product support to me on numerous occasions, however, I have requested support directly from Huish Outdoors recently for the following 1) The user manual for the dive computer is for all intents and purposes Such reviews can be found on this site in great abundance. In my experience, I typically read the reviews before making an online purchase and I consider the poor quality of the user manuals, but as an engineer who has written technical documents for nearly twenty years, I realize that, sometimes, it can be that the customer lacks a basic understanding of the product. This is not true in this case, the user manual is not much use as a training manual. As I had read that Oceanic would provide a code for accessing free online training on the Geo 2, I attempted to contact their technical service through their web site several times. Through divecomputertraining, 0 people have been trained. Please visit www. com. Having a third party offer basic training on the computer is indicative of the need for this type of training. This should be taken into account by anyone looking for dive equipment from Oceanic or Huish outdoors (the Huish umbrella of dive equipment manufacturers includes Atomic Aquatics, BARE, Liquivision, Stahlsac, Zeagle, Oceanic, Zeagle, for example, has had a pretty solid reputation for quite some time. It is not as important in this case. In order to avoid spending hundreds of dollars on a dive computer (or anything else from Oceanic or Huish), keep in mind that there may be no customer support if you run into a problem. It is significant to me that this is taken into account. 2) Oceanic does not appear to have drivers for the Windows 10 OS, which is necessary for installing and using Windows 10 drivers are not mentioned on the tech support page and, again, I have been unable to receive any responses after numerous inquiries about where to get updated drivers. The ability to use an electronic dive log was one of the primary functions I sought in Geo 2. I was unaware of this when I bought the dive computer and the Geo 2 didn't allow me to use one. In addition you will need to buy the USB cable separately, and this is probably the most expensive USB cable that you will ever buy (about $100) for a USB cable. This is exactly the same cable that you can buy at Walmart for $5, only it has the right connector for The fact that a cable company wants to charge so much for a service is totally absurd. Thus, before you make your purchase, take a look at these points. In my opinion, I will not be continuing to purchase any equipment under the Huish Outdoors banner unless Oceanic/Huish makes a U-turn on their customer service. As much as the quality of the product matters to me, so does customer support.

Dive Computer has some quirks, but it is an amazing machine
4/5

Diving recreationally is made so much easier with this dive computer. It has been a very good purchase for me, and I would be glad to purchase The majority of my diving involves wreck and cavern diving down to about 130 feet (most often with Two of my dives were two feet deep This computer has been dived on about 50 times. I use it 3 times per month. It is a "Tec-no" computer and I purchased it because I like its technology As an added bonus, it is small enough to be worn as a regular watch, as well as having several "reational" features. "Tech-" is how I refer to it "Reasonable," I mean that you can set two different gas mixes under water and switch between them. With this setup you can use either air or nitrox for your bottom gas and then switch to a 100% O2 or 80% bottle for your ascent. You will not be locked out if you enter decompression mode on the computer. After you enter the decompression interval, many computers will not allow you to dive for 24 hours. There is no way for you to enter and then confirm that your nitrox mix was entered exactly as you wanted. As soon as you select "select" to save the mix, the nitrox menu fades over. is displayed, and the mix is customizable. Actually, you can only plan a dive based on the mix that is currently set in the nitrox menu, because that is the only setting you have access to. The fact that you can view your current PPO2 while in dive mode is a nice touch. It is not possible to do this with many computers. Menus here are unique to say the least! Many menus have a single letter in their titles. Taking the Nitrox menu as an example, its title is "F. ". Using the entire screen would be possible -- there is more than enough room An 8 letter title, such as "NITROX" or "SET O2%", would be appropriate. It is called "A" on the menu to adjust your maximum allowed PPO2. A menu called "U" allows you to select the decompression algorithm and safety stops. My method is usually to randomly choose a few menu items until I find the one I want. Despite the slick design, the menus are actually quite intuitive (because of the four button system). I just wish they had given them a more intuitive name. Underwater, the audible alarms are not loud enough to be heard. Only when I bring the watch close to my head will I be able to hear them. The red blinking alarm on the LED is a nice addition. Despite its small size and price, it has a lot of features that are only found in computers twice its price. Nevertheless, it is a great purchase, and it can also be worn as a regular watch.

The wristwatch-size computer can also be used for daily use or as a watch A Geo 2 is a new product
4/5

This dive computer fits comfortably on the wrist, isn't bulky, can be used every day as a wrist watch (also comes with a strap extender which lets you use it with wet or dry suits). This product's screen display does not have the same contrast as advertised in the product photo on the website, it's much darker and more dim In addition to the clear contrast, black text against a white background, as advertised on the website was also a major factor in my decision to buy It is unclear if this is the case in the unit I received or if this is the case with all of them, but I am a Although the screen is compact and relatively large, and the lettering is also relatively large, it is still easy to read, and using the four buttons is mostly intuitive. It took me about ten minutes to figure out how to use it. You'll need 15 minutes to set up the watch and dive mode with the help of a few YouTube videos, but most of all you'll need common sense and familiarity with dive jargon. There's a quick start guide and a CD included with this product, but I didn't need to use either. A few things can be customized with it, e. g. A few basic settings, such as air and nitrox type, alarms, conservative factor, deep stop, safety stop, and plan your dive, but nothing too strenuous. Overall, it is a good dive computer for beginners and may even be suitable for advanced divers as well. It has a strap and a buckle There is some greenish tint to the body, but it's not completely black. This device is a good choice for those looking for low price, great features, and a large screen.
