USCG Type III: The Type 3 vest is certified by the US Coast Guard and has a 100 MPH strength rating. Flotation vests are required on nearly all public waterways in the United States. Some Jet Ski racing organizations also have requirements.

SIDE ENTRY: Lightweight and comfortable with open sides that allow for more movement. Riders of jet skis and other watercraft will love it. On the side of the life vest, there are three 38mm buckles and webbing for quick closure.

Will this frail-looking vest keep someone afloat if they have never learned to swim?

Without a doubt, you'll be able to float. Simply pull the vest down to the point where the shoulder straps are directly across your shoulders. Also, make sure the straps are tight and secure enough to keep the vest in place. It is, without a doubt, the best vest available. If your vest isn't snug against your body, it will slide up and over your head.

This is a fantastic vest with a lot of useful safety features

This is a very nice life vest with the added benefit of rescue lifting points. The kill switch key is attached, but there is no obvious place to attach a whistle. br>br>I am 6' and 190 pounds, and the L/XL fits me perfectly. I imagine it would be a little restricting for people with larger frames, but it's ideal for me.
