Randall bushings have always been my favorite. If you're under 150 pounds, red is the way to go; if you're over 150 pounds, white is the way to go.

I ordered these trucks, this pulley kit, and this motor mount to upgrade my electric skateboard (see my reviews on those items on their respective pages). br>br>In any case, it all came together in the end. However, there were a few minor changes that had to be made. After mounting the pulley on the wheels I had, I noticed that the pulley brushed up against the truck's edge. This was simple to fix with a dremel, but it could also be done with a file. If you use a dremel, make sure to use the WOOD bits because aluminum is a soft metal that will clog other grinding wheels. Overall, the project was a success, and the trucks performed admirably.
br>In San Francisco, I ride a longboard as my primary mode of transportation, and the response these trucks provide is unlike anything else. br>The blood orange brand bushings that came with these are also the most responsive bushings on the market. Because of the way they're built, they appear to have two modes: you can easily turn by leaning softly, but if you need to quickly dart in a different direction, you can add a little more weight to the lean and the board responds instantly. These work when mounted from the top when mounted on a lowrider drop through deck with some Bigfoot Boardwalk wheels. Fortunately, the top of the board has a nice finish and logo to tie everything together.
These trucks appear to be quite nice; the casting appears to be precise, and the mounting points for the wheels appear to be extremely even; the machining appears to be excellent; overall, these appear to be a fantastic pair. They ride stable, but I don't do big slides with them, so I can't comment on that. I just freeride and cruise, so these are more than enough for me. The stock bushings are loud as hell, so I swapped them out for my Orangatang Nipples, which are super dope bushings in my opinion. Plus, they're a lot nicer looking than my other trucks. br>I think they're great.
So. Right away, I'll say something. The kingpin had been shortened to 2 1/2 inches, which I noticed. Instead of the standard 2-and-a-half-inch, this one is 2-and-a-half inches. This is an issue in and of itself. I can't use my favorite bushing combination because of this. In any case, I decided to try out the Ultra High Rebound bushings. I was over 15 mph when this happened. I've never liked blood orange bushings because they start pushing back so hard and fast that it almost knocks me off my board. Caliber used to provide a truck, which I appreciated. This could be used with a variety of bushing combinations and brands. I'm disappointed that such an excellent product has been weakened.
The bushings in the stock are well-suited to carving. I switched them out because my mind was more on mellow downhill. The gold satin color is a perfect match for my board. All standard bushings, as well as specialized venom/riptide bushings, have perfectly shaped bushing seats. The hanger is symmetrical, so you can't lower your board by flipping them, but I bought them for a drop through, so that wasn't a problem. These were a little less expensive on Amazon than the other top brands (paris/grizzly/randal/gullwing), so it was a no-brainer:.
Prior to ordering, I inquired if anyone knew the difference between the black bushings that come with the trucks and the blood orange red 89a bushings that come with the raw truck in terms of duromter. br>br>I placed my order despite the fact that no one had responded. br>br>They're fine for cruising, but they're cone and don't feel like 89a at all. br>br>Toss some hills and get some venom double barrel bushings to your liking if you want to bomb some hills. br>br>As you can see in the photo, I got some wheel bite while carving and sliding the front side, which was not good. br>br>The setup is a Rayne Darkside 36, 1/4" Riser, and 70mm 80a blood orange wheels.
I finally invested in a proper set of trucks for my 42-inch drop-down cruiser longboard, and I was blown away. Carving became incredibly smooth (in fact, buttery smooth), and the trucks' overall design is solid and attractive. br> The only criticism I have is that any painted ones, such as the red ones I bought, will eventually wear out. I would prefer the "raw," unpainted version to any painted version. The only other difference is that the axles stick out a hair more on one side of the hanger than the other, but it doesn't seem to make a difference other than the fact that one wheel takes a second longer to crank down than the other. This is, however, an exaggeration. check out br> Fantastic trucks. You won't be sorry if you get your "raw" Calibers today.
I got the orangatang nipples medium bushings, which are only about $15, but they're well worth it. When compared to how it was before, my board now glides like butter. For the price, I believe the quality durable metal and simplicity of the truck design are what make it great. Because of the suggestions I heard from other reviews and a couple of bad reviews of the faulty paint jobs, I got the raw trucks (without paint) out of personal preference. I simply relied on their word, and I'm glad I did. I don't believe I have anything to complain about in my case.
