had been able to make my longboard roll, Bones Reds might have been an option. bought multiple packages of these, and I mounted them on different wheels and speed kits, and tried to ride them all for a fair amount of time, but they never seemed to roll smoothly and lightly even after a couple of weeks. As a result of the high reviews I've always seen about these bearings, maybe my expectations were raised. It's likely I was treated (or lucky) to a set of Shivers. I am very willing to try off-brand products from Bones, as they have had countless good reviews, but I will be a bit more cautious.

Purchasing these for roller skates involves 16 bearings, so you need to buy 16 of them. You need two packages of 8 Solid bearings because I realized that myself, so buy them as soon as possible.

There's no question that Redz are the best bearings you can get without spending a lot of money. There is really no reason to purchase anything other than redz except if you're a pro in need of high performance parts (which I already know you're not since a pro would already have used them and probably still are), so skip it unless you are a pro. It's usually me who gets second-placed It is a habit of mine to put in new redz before doing any other project. The redz can keep any board feeling brand new for years to come, no matter what kind of board it is. My shopping for bearings will never be influenced by another brand.

They roll for ever. Most of the money is saved by using bearings that cost $40 a piece when skating for thirty years on all types of surfaces. We have always used the highest, most accurate Swiss bearing burs available, because of their precision, they must be cleaned continuously in order to stay oiled. The precision bearings wear out easily if they are in contact with water or dirt. They roll no matter what, and are so cheap you don't have to bother cleaning them. Just put a little bearing lube on them, and they will last a lifetime. A caveat on such a smooth surface is that you can feel the vibration from the lack of precision, but who is that skilled at rolling on glass-like surfaces. similar to the Vietnam war comparison of low-tech weapons like an AK-47 that worked even with sand in them and high-tech weapons like M16s that jammed up easily with dust.

bearings are very good for the price of $12. They have a four star rating because the shield/seal can form a labyrinth around the bearing because there is no groove in the inner race. It has been proved that the bearings will fail from contamination ingress instead of just wearing down. As well as bearings, they also make great spinners.

fooled by the claim that these tools are precisely designed and will not budge when you need them. When the product came out of the box it sounded like it had been filled with sand. The next time they were used, they barely moved. Spending an hour to clean them thoroughly, I can only conclude that home is the only place they will help this product. POOR QUALITY CONTROL is what makes me consider going to another supplier. Even though my old ABEC 3 bearings that I used to use on my skates 15 years ago have a smoother roll than these ones, and they haven't been used for.
