The hips are the next step, and then the age follows. In addition, not all children of the same age are of the same height, so choosing a size only based on age is not the best method. They are good and fit my kids' dirt bikes perfectly

I bought them for them to use when riding It's a good product for the price. The padding isn't too thick, and the foam is pretty low profile I am not sure how it might do during a fall, but better than nothing at all. There could be a softer mesh fabric in future versions, as the mesh currently is somewhat rough. However, it will definitely flow tons of air, which is exactly All in all, I am happy with my purchase and service. If they release version 2 with better fabric and padding, I may consider it.

A back protector will interfere with the movement

It would be hard to fit my 48" tall 7 year old in the shorts. As well as interfering with his back protection, they interfere with his movement. As long as a back protector is not worn, they should work nicely. The summer will be the best time for him to use them.
