It's hilarious that there's an ass pad here. It is almost impossible to keep from seeing my 3 year old waddling a bit The "superhero butt pad" is the name she uses for it. I find it hilarious how much girth this adds, as well as how it looks so out of place. I couldn't stop laughing when she wore it for the first time. This works great, most falls will not even hurt if they occur on the butt, upper thighs or lower back. Attached to both legs and the stomach is a very secure piece of equipment. I found it to be well made, as it has a relatively thick foam liner, and a strong elastic pad. You should get it for the humor, though. I love what it looks like it's ridiculous. It is not the safety aspect that led to my purchase, but the humor aspect that keeps me coming back.

It never occurred to me that my daughter would think this was weird gear to wear, but it's her favorite! I am teaching her to roller skate at 3 years old. The pain of a broken tailbone after a roller skate fall can last weeks for anyone who has experienced this. The way my daughter fell was the most painful thing I have ever seen. Her fall was the cause of her crying she was fine within a minute. I think I should get some in my size so I can put these on her myself by sitting on it and strapping in her legs and standing up to wrap around her waist! haha! It's like she only needs one hand to do it themselves.

We took the smallest and our kids (5 and 7) did not fit in it. Although the material and craftsmanship appeared good, we were unable to use them due to the size difference.

It is nice that the pads are comfortable and have a good degree of support. I have saved my daughters from so many bum falls. My only complaint with the smaller size is that it is a bit small. My six year old is only 45 pounds. You won't be able to wear it for very long if you weigh more than 150 lbs.

This pads protects my daughter's butts and hips well and so far, is doing an excellent job. I don't mind the fact that it is funny as long as my child is protected. This is a wonderful resource for parents teaching their children how to ice skate or rollerblade.
