There should have been a warning that this replacement motor was not what I needed, but it was the same model. A major difference between the replacement motor and the original motor generated a great deal of irritation for me. This issue has also had a few reports, because somewhere between the original model and its replacement model it was switched from a belt drive to chain drive. It was not until I had the new one in hand and got the old scooter apart that I noticed It took me a bit of time, but I was finally able to take the old bell housing out of the shell and put it in the new one (a magnet had fallen out of It's not for a novice to take on such a task, and it would have been unnecessary to go through the return process, but I didn't want to spend another fifty on the wrong one. You probably won't even bother reading this or even try this work around if you own a E200 that was made in the early days. Just be aware if you have one of these.
I have about 2 or 3 hours on it. Compared to the original, this motor is much longer, so getting it into the right position was more challenging. Despite being threaded, the mounting holes matched up correctly, but the motor was too far from the mounting surface due to protrusions on the mounting surface. There were threads that needed to be drilled out and protrusions that needed to be ground off. Initially, the cable came out from a different place than the original motor, so routing it was a little difficult. Once the motor was in place, it worked fine. It currently has two to three hours on it and seems to be working.
We used the E200 for years, and now our kids have a new one. Originaly, he died at the age of 58. It was our pleasure to see their scooter revived by a simple, exact replacement.
Have been using it for over a month now. Exactly as it should be.
Not so much with the mounting bracket. This required me to drill a hole in order to bolt it. Other than that, the system functions well.
I'm very pleased with it. Replaced with the exact same part that just bolted.
