We decided to order him a pair the same day after seeing them. One bolt was missing from the rear wheel, which makes these unusable. His front wheels looked okay, but the back wheels fell off as soon as he put them on. The bolts were inserted into the wheel by my husband so he is now able to use the wheels. It is easy for things to break. Update I contacted the roller derby company shortly after receiving this message and they sent me a new pair of shoes. While they lasted a little longer than the first pair, they experienced the same problem within a few weeks. This green pair seems to be made differently than the red and orange ones I bought for my other children. I've had these shoes for years, and they've held up well. These were not made to the same standards That's too bad. After only using the rollerblade on the weekends for three weeks, one of them is broken! It is not acceptable. Considering they are so expensive, these should be of far greater quality. I do not recommend them. You might find it somewhere else.

These were a gift I gave to my little boy for his 8th As the snow has been melting, he has been able to venture outside a bit to test them out. It seems like he has wiped out more than I can count as a very new beginner. It looks like this roller blade has taken a lot of punishment. Skates fit well and the four sizes are adjustable, so I really like the fact that they are adjustable. It appears that the wheels and boot are in good shape, but the brake pad has worn down to the bolt already. Even though my twins do not brake unnecessarily, they are already too old for us to use them safely any more. One pair of blades we bought for our twins lasted three years (by a different brand) and we never had to replace the brake pads on that pair at all in fact, we saved them for our youngest daughter to re-use.
