I definitely wouldn't recommend it. To mount any boot (or shoe - skate boots, actual boots, tennis shoes, etc.), the boot (or shoe) needs to be drilled. Essentially, you can remove them, but then you'd find that your Docs have holes in them. Naturally, that would not be an option during a rainy or snowy day. In order to skate your Doc's, you will need to buy another pair. You can keep one pair of them as normal shoes while converting the other pair to skate soles.

They are great, and I'm super happy with them. The plate I got was a size 5 for a size 7 men's shoe. Nine pairs of shoes (five for women). The size 8 is usually my size in women's clothing. Since I needed to make my own skates, I got a bigger size. There is nothing I would change about it, it is a great value for the money, the plates are sturdy (a little heavy but that's how i like my mountain skates), they come with the trucks and stoppers, and the price is hard to beat. A couple of washers helped me get the stoppers to screw in all the way, but that was the only problem I had. Thank you so much! I am thrilled! I bought these plates without spending a lot of money they worked out well for me.
There are no instructions included. The retailer assumes the buyer knows already what they're getting themselves into. For a first-time plate installer such as myself, I was able to figure it out via YouTube and the parts I needed to put together a recreational skate was all included. This will fit sizes 7- 8 according to the description. I'd say 5, but no way! Now I have to return to the store and try a smaller size. It's a good size, I hope. I'm disappointed because the sizes are not right. It would be nice if measurements were available on the site for people to double-check.
I originally bought them to replace the plates on a pair of cheap skates I bought, but they didn't fit so I made a custom pair. These plates are pretty awesome, so getting them instead of skates off of Amazon that aren't name brands is probably the better decision.
