The zipper and the zippered pockets are outstanding. They are not to everyone's taste, however, and if you are not used to them, they can be annoying. Those exposed to the sun are protected by it.

The sun will be very hot in the desert, so I bought this for my arms. Because of the smaller sizes, I suggest ordering a size up unless you want it to fit snug. The medium fits me best, so I designed a large for myself. There is no need to iron it as it fits perfectly. The purple color is lovely. However, I feel that it is still protective from the sun despite the lightweight material. There is one minor drawback, though, as the collar rolls in when the jacket is unzipped. The jacket I received seemed to be worn, and it looked like it was meant for summer. This item was rolled up in packaging and smelled strongly of laundry detergent and perfume. The fragrance in this may not be suitable for me, as I am allergic to it. Because of this, I was very disappointed. The summer shirt I bought it for would have looked great with it.
