Questions & Answers

Is this a good set of brake levers for a road bike?

It worked great on 700/40c knobby road tires, but don't push it too far or it will break. Mine didn't, so keep that in mind when using the plastic.

Is there a case included with these?

No, they are not packaged in a case. I stored mine in a sandwich-sized zip-lock bag.

Is it even worth it to open the package and use these on a 20" ebike tire with a 4" width?

I found that they worked well on my 26x1 huffy. Tires of size 95

Is it possible to use these on a mountain bike?

They are compatible with any type of bicycle.

My Catrike Trail recumbent trike's Marathon Plus tires don't go flat, but they do wear out and need to be replaced eventually. Because the bead on the 20-inch tire is so tight, other levers, such as Park and Performance Buke, are ineffective, the Gorilla Force lever is the only way to get the job done quickly. They stay put once they've gone under the bead. There's no risk of the levers breaking because they're so strong. You'll never require more than these levers.

What is the point of them existing in the first place? So far as I can tell, these were made by someone who had seen a tire lever but not a bicycle and had no idea what either of them was for
3/5

We're dealing with pieces of tough, indestructible plastic that have no practical application. The lever's end is set at 90 degrees and is so narrow that it can't possibly fit under a tire's rim. I used to be a bike messenger, and I used to fix a lot of flats on the spot. I know how to do this, and I've come dangerously close to developing stigmata in the process of trying to make these things work. Give them to someone you despise and you can count on a half-hour of befuddled frustration.

It will not break, it will not pinch, and it will pop off tight tires
5/5

Some rim and bike tire combinations are very easy to disassemble. You deflate the tube if it isn't already deflated, push in the stem (unscrew the knurl on presta valves) to relieve pressure on the reinforced tube around the stem, push in on the tire next to the rim on one side all the way around to move the bead off the ridge and into the slightly deeper center of the rim, then use the resulting space to pop the bead over the rim near the valve stem (since the other side However, some rim and tire combinations are extremely restricted! Then you'll need leverage, preferably without pinching or damaging the tube. The trick is to use plastic levers with a small curl on the end to catch the tire bead. They weigh slightly more if they are thick, but they are less likely to break and are easier to handle. When the situation is particularly tight, you may need to use one tire lever and hook the other end around a spoke, followed by a second or even a third tire lever. br>These were well-designed levers. They're reasonably priced and get the job done. If this is important to you, they did not press together for storage as a group when not in use like the park tool version. At least in the ones I received, there was enough variation that they occasionally popped apart after being stacked together. br>I have several of these, but I like to keep a few in each bike bag in case I need to remove a tire during a ride; they also work well enough at home and in the shop.

Strong, but not well suited to narrower tires
3/5

One of two issues plagues many tire levers. Some are brittle or flimsy, and will snap if you try to lift a tight tire off the rim. Others are too chunky and unsuitable for tighter spaces. putting on (especially road) tires The Gorilla force levers fall into this category. br>br> For loose-fitting clothing, this is ideal. In such situations, however, the strength of the tires is unnecessary. However, getting these levers under the edge of a tight-fitting tight-fitting tight-fitting tight-fitting tight-fitting tight-fitting tight-fit In the first place, it was necessary to install tires. As a result, their strength is wasted, and I am forced to rely on Pedro's levers.

The task was completed successfully
4/5

These levers are sturdy and well-designed, with the small hooked end, to complete the task at hand. Using these levers, I was able to install two notoriously difficult tires (Continental Contact Plus 700x32). However, it was not without a great deal of difficulty. I had to use every ounce of strength I had, and it's a wonder I didn't pinch the tube given how aggressively I had to manhandle the wheel. With this setup, I'll never be able to do a roadside tube repair, and I'm dreading the day I have to dismount and remount either of these tires again. Most people will be fine with these, but if you know you have a tight fit, you might want to look into other options. Based on my recent experience, I now have a better idea of what the tool should do for these tight beads. Next, I'm going to get a bead jack because it appears that these tires require one. Also, after doing some more research online, I believe I've found a couple of additional tire levers that I'd like to try. Although I believe that there are better levers available, these did the job.

It does exactly what it says on the tin
5/5

For my bike tool bag, I needed a pair of light tire levers. After reading the reviews, it appeared that these met the need; however, some of the reviews were critical of the finish, stating that you should expect to sand out imperfections and mold marks. I ordered these with the expectation of having to "dress up" the levers, but mine arrived with no blemishes, no mold marks, and worked perfectly straight out of the box. The length is appropriate, it fits well in the hand, and it is simple to position and use.

Bike tire levers from Gorilla Force
3/5

I'm having the same problem as everyone else. My tires measure 16 x 1 3/8 inches, which is unusually large. The tool's thickness was a little too thick for me to get between the tire and the rim easily. I had to fiddle with it for a long time and became frustrated, but I eventually got it to work. On the plus side, it was able to withstand a significant amount of force when it came time to remove the tire from the rim.

I purchased a set of these to replace a tube on my 29er mountain bike, and they worked perfectly
4/5

I bought the four pack, so I have one pair at home and one in my truck toolbag for when I'm on the road. br>br>These aren't complicated; once you get the lever end under the tire bead, it'll come off. I probably could have changed the tire with one of these, but the first one had already fallen out by the time I got the second one in. "Levers snap together for convenient storage in your bike tire repair tool kit," according to the claim, costs me a star. "I like to have at least two of these things snapped together so I don't have to dig through my toolbag looking for them. " So, these *sorta* snap together, but if you bump them or look at them funny, they'll pop apart, making it a rather pointless feature. I guess I'll wrap each pair in a rubber band.
