I have a grand daughter who rides an 18" bycycle, and this fits perfectly
5/5

Great job on my grand daughter's 18" bike. Took me 1 hour 45 minutes from when I pulled it out of the mailbox to when it was completed. Since it is a universal part, it only took me a minute to figure it I drilled two holes, one for the front bracket and one for the back bracket, and I used a sheet metal screw to attach it to the inside of the frame. A hole had already been cut into the frame.

I would like to see better brackets
3/5

It took me about two hours to install The time you spent there was worth how much? I would appreciate it if the seller would throw in a few extra brackets for free. It would be a lot of fun if it had enough time. The brackets provided appear to be designed for old style bicycles. Modern bikes have thinner tubes, so the brackets will not be able to go around them. My solution was to hammer on one of the brackets to reduce the curvature, then to clamp it to the bike using an auto radiator clamp. Also, there is a long guard that needs to tuck behind the The chain, however, gets tangled when the lanyard is tucked behind. In order to do this, I used tin snips to cut off the last 4" or so of the guard, so that it now just extends.

There is no such thing as The chain guard was perfect for our 20" bike
4/5

The appearance was good as well. Where are the instructions for There seems to be a specific type of frame required for easy installation. In this case, we drilled extra holes and used longer bolts to get it to work.

An elegant look, but creativity is required to make it work
4/5

Aside from the fact that the chain guard looks fabulous and is of superior quality, the only issue with it is the difficulty of installing it on your bike. For one thing, no instructions are included, though there were several parts to assemble. Due to the chain guard not being made for a specific bike, it was a challenge to attach it to the frame. Upon putting it on, I had to adjust the alignment many times in order to prevent rubbing between the chain and the guard. In spite of this, it was wonderful to find a guard that did not need to be made for a special bike, but indeed fit my frame. Good look, that's what I say. You may be able to fit it to your frame with a bit of creativity. For attachment pieces, there are multiple slots, so adjustment for the (limited) scope of use is not problematic.

Quite a few modifications are needed for it to work and look The fitting is not difficult

You've done a good job. You'll have to bend it a little here and there and you'll need to use self-tapping sheet metal screws to mount it to a contemporary.

Adding modifications to an old school banana seat frame would be nice. It was a good experience, all in all.

I like the idea but the metal seems really thin (light gauge)
3/5

I like the idea but the metal seems really thin (light gauge). As it is such a light gauge, I needed to mount it at both ends as well as in In addition, it would have been better if the tail had been another 2 to 4 inches longer for my use. Overall, I am glad that it was available and that it worked well for my trike build for adults.
