I didn't have a set screw on mine. My own had to be substituted. A tap had also to be used on the set screw hole because the threads were too shallow for the set screw to touch. As a result, I had to modify mine since it had missing parts. The tap set in my shop and the screws I could choose from meant that I could make it within 20 minutes for myself. As a result, my pictures weren't as they appeared and my order was not working.
The purpose of this purchase was to aid in my conversion from 3x10 to 1x10. It worried me that the chain would jump since I didn't purchase a rear derailleur with a clutch. Due to the fact that I was not able to adjust all the settings while riding, making the guide take some time to adjust. But once it was adjusted, it stayed in place and works properly. During any of my rides, I have not had any issues with the chain. While I'm not entirely sure if it would have succeeded without it, it's a good piece of mind not to have to worry about.
On the top right of the photo (top left), you can see a set screw holding the shaft to the frame. The set screw is all that prevents this unit from rotating after it has been What if I told you that it moves every time you bump it? Clearly this design should never have passed any test because it is poorly engineered. In which case, they probably did not.
I am going to get the little chain keeper as part of my budget gravel 1x build so that I can keep my chain in place. The bike was from the 90s and I removed two of the chainrings and I was experiencing chaindrop every time I rode it. Then I hooked this guy on and there were no more issues. An ideal 10.
In the first day, the glass broke. Mountain bikers will find the concept a good one, but the product is not durable.
It worked, mostly, at first, but a couple months later it is no longer possible to keep it There is no function to the chainguard, as it moves around freely.
The chain is simply and completely adjustable, so there is no chain failure.
