After damaging the crank arm of the HORIZONTAL TAPER fork on my Yamaha Ebike, I purchased a replacement since I had been waiting so long for Yamaha to send me the original part. It would take 3 weeks for just one right crank arm to arrive, so I ordered two. The shipping cost was rather low for a pair My current plan is to use one day of Amazon Prime and keep the other as a reserve. The owner of my local bike shop told me when I brought the right crank arm in that it will not Apparently it's a diamond taper, so a horizontal taper is required. It was a mistake to order a horizontal taper this is how they're advertised. I should not have had to send the left crank arm in because I ordered the diamond taper in the first place. Note (NOTE According to what I learned, a square taper is always a square regardless of whether it's a square or diamond shape. It's the angle that makes a difference. A square taper looks like a square when held horizontally, and a diamond taper looks like a diamond when held vertically. Once you put them on, it really has no effect if they are matched because they will line up in sync. While it may not be true that the product is horizontal, it is false advertising to claim it is diamond in shape.
The original crank arms on my bike flared outward from the pedals, which caused pain on the inside of my knees. I found that the pressure point was actually on the interior of my lower leg (and knee). There is no bend in the crank arms. I no longer have knee pain since I installed the device! Product of high quality.
In the picture, there are two cranks, but only one left crank is present. Despite the fact that I only require one left crank, I am okay with that. A part of mine was loose and the taper hole had been damaged and needed to be replaced. The crank bolt needs to be locked in place with blue locktight so that it does not come apart.
My originals worked fine until I used a puller that was the wrong size. I have used these 700 miles running up and down extremely hilly terrain and have never needed to adjust or tighten them. My weight is 230, so I have given them a good.
I have no idea who buys these not as replacement parts. These are rather pricey for what they are since they are "OEM" for Bafang mid-drive.
My Torker unicycle works just fine with these.
I returned it to sender as I no longer own the bike they were going to sell at the shop and it is irreparable.
