Once you've set them up, they're great. Setting up was a pain in the neck. Some aspects of the design irritate me. I'm talking about the yoke / triangle part (excuse my ignorance of the terminology). Because of the design, the alan key side of the equation has a bolt that does not spin. I'm not sure why it's there at all. So tightening is done with a small adjustable wrench on the opposite side; I'd much rather have an alan wrench to tighten to spec. br>br>At the same time, the cable routing in this area becomes clogged. You must compel it to follow the path that it was intended to take. br>br>It's difficult to put into words exactly what I mean, but just know that the setup isn't the most enjoyable. br>br>However, the braking power is incredible! The visual appeal is outstanding. And both the front and back brakes are very reasonably priced; I used mine on a vintage MTB build. In the end, I'm very pleased with these. I'd buy from them again in a heartbeat.
br> br>Mechanical advantage at least doubled,br>Crisp, powerful stops br>One of the bushings in my set was too big. br>It's all set, I've filed down the bush. br>Setup was simple, with all necessary adjustments for a proper fit. br>To be honest, I'm not sure. Breaking that is extremely powerful!.
I put these on a 1995 Diamondback that I'm converting to a dropbar all-wheel-drive vehicle. Setup is simple, and they're relatively easy to adjust for the proper toe-in position. the pads are inserted Time will tell if it is of good quality. Despite my light weight, I have a good feel and a lot of stopping power.
If you've ever tried to install Cantilever brakes, you know how difficult they are. You'll be slaving away for hours trying to perfect them. I simply put on my breaks and leave. The adjustability is incredible, and I have a lot of breaking power. These were mounted on a tandem bike, and they easily stopped 300 pounds.
The price is very reasonable.
